anyhow, I found this one hanging out near the water spout of all places last night. I'm in Vancouver B.C.
CLOSED: Spider Id help
This spider is in the family Agelenidae (funnel-web/grass spiders), apparently in the genus Tegenaria. They superficially resemble wolf spiders, but lack the enlarged front pair of eyes, and have longer spinnerets (visible from above, as in your specimen). At least three species of Tegenaria have been reported from British Columbia - see

Large specimens are capable of inflicting a painful bite if mishandled.
Awesome, thank you. I suspected it was either a hobo or a giant house spider, always good to have someone confirm :) looks to me like it's a hobo.
