CLOSED: What is this.
These appear to be fly larvae, but I am uncertain as to their i.d. - if they were found in loose soil, they might be the larvae of stiletto flies (family Therevidae - see http://tinyurl.com/ctygnl for an example). Larvae of some biting midges (family Ceratopogonidae, particularly if they were found in exudate from a tree wound or the like such as those in the genus Palpomyia) can be very similar in gross appearance, but tend to be much smaller (9-10 mm).
Thankyou they are from a tree wound.
