In my searches to confirm the last one I stumbled upon several that look similar to another I would like to ID. Any ideas on this one?
Neoscona arabesca is the closest I can seem to find, but I'm certainly no expert on this one and it's spot pattern seems too different to me.
CLOSED: Orb Weaver too?
I believe that this spider more likely is in the genus Araneus than Neoscona, such as Araneus diadematus, a European species that has become well-established in North Anerica - see http://tinyurl.com/3ozsv for an example. Please bear in mind that species in both of these genera can exhibit considerable individual variation in color patterns, and therefor, identification from a single image can be problematic.
Thank-you suunto. I believe you're right! I can match up spot for spot with the image you linked to, though I understand that there can be so much variation.
