I found another hummingbird nest! Part 2

They were a bit blinky...eyes open:

...and apparently this is what happens to baby hummingbirds with a stomach full of bugs and nectar on a warm afternoon :-)

Everybody loves to nap in a sunbeam! Thanks again for sharing all the great photos! I love checking back and seeing them progress.

Sunny...again, wonderful photos!! That is sooo sweet that you have been their 'guardian'...to be sure that the crews know of the nest! Also, I love it that you cited yourself as 'crazy enough' to plan your day around hummingbirds! I've learned that there are people that are good crazy, bad crazy and just plain bat-s**t crazy people. However, not only would I say that you are good crazy, but that you are also just a wonderful human being to help nature along like that.

Sweet sleeping pic for sure! Looks like it won't be long that they fly away. Did the guy with the long lens say anything to you? Did he come across the street, or was he taking pictures of you??

They've fledged!!! WHOOHOOO! I went early because it looks like rain again...and one was completely gone, and one was (and still is) on a nearby branch! BBL with pics :-)

:-) I am soooooo happy they made it! I'm going through my pics now, as well as uploading a few video clips to photobucket. I hate to start another thread just for these last few pics, but is this thread getting too long for those on dial-up? What do you all think? I will probably have around 18 more pics to post...

Thanks again for all the nice comments above, and the well wishes for the two latest winged members of the neighborhood. Sheila, the man with the big camera came right over and started snapping pics right next to me. He didn't say much though.

I find that funny/odd sunnyg. If it was me I would be doing a dance of joy or at least if I was pretending to be calm, cool and collected (never gonna happen) acknowledge the photographer who DISCOVERED THE NEST. Just my thoughts. Back to waving tata to the baby hummers now.

Well, he did say "thanks" after the he finished snapping the pics. However I didn't see any dance of joy, and he seemed to be a man of few words ;-). I'm working on the new thread now. I'll post a link to it here in a few.

Well some are peoples of few words so 'thanks' is great.

So true...plus I think I've done enough happy dances over this whole thing for everybody!
