Any one know about this echinacia?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No - just the three in containers will go there, but we will still have lots of room for our spring dance, or bulbous things dance, or a tango.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

they will not fill up the dance floor yet - when he says most are small he means all are small :)

post some pics of those victor - wish i had ordered a couple more now!

only 30 varieties:)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll have to find a wide-angle lens.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

no need - it will be like 12 blades of grass

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - like my giant miscanthus.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i hope you get good ones! mine are looking nicer everyday in the garage - only two haven't started leafing out - makes me wonder where they over wintered

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Maybe you should leave them in there.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i will until the second half of april

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

wha are your's going in the ground or in containers?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just arrived. Keep in mind this porch door is 12 feet high.

Seriously, they are great - well-branched, healthy and big. One they straighten out, some are well over five feet.

5 feet maybe little by tree standards, but still isn't little IMPO. You better make some room for those Beauties!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Kids might be moving out.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Yup into a treehouse.

dnut i have gone over board with jm's this year - i have 17 right now ( three i have two each) and 23 on order for spring delivery - 3-4 will go into containers - the rest will go in the ground

i bought so many because they are slow growing and too expensive to buy full grown - so i decided to invest in them now to enjoy later.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Pretty smart idea Bill.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

thx - it is figuring out where they will be planted that is my main problem

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ha ha - at least you have lots of room.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

not so sure about the room - after raking all day and then burning - i walked around and need to figure out where to move a few things - i also will have to dig up the root ball of at least two of the big maples i cut down - not looking forward to that - and one of the maples i over wintered looks like it had a very tough time - beni mara i think

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Don't burn Beni hana.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm Jonsing for a Beni Kawa.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's a great one. Brightest red anywhere short of AIG faces.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

have a baby kawa - more pink bark than coral bark jm

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

hmmmm.
I would have bought a Beni Kawa from my Rhody guy but sence I think they planted the wrong variety of Rhodys last summer I'll have to go somewhere else.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Mine is beet red.

I find that they take up to the third year to do really great since it takes that long for the plant to be mature

the flowers are then bigger and studier and will give more of them also
so be patient with them and dont over water and always put them in full sun for the best colors and performance

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Maybe there is hope for the one year ols Autumb Blush or Sky ,I cant remember

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I grow mine from seed and it really takes up to three years and the ones I buy usually take the second from planting to look good the stems do get bigger with the age of the plant so wait and you will be rewarded

I grow almost every kind found in seeds
this year I will get one as a plant the pink poodle is just to tempting to wait three years for seeds lol

I grew razmataz and it took to the third year for it to show its different blooms and also the double dont double the first year and the second only a few are doubled the third year most are doubled which are the taller center ones and the ones on the edges which have grown from the edge of the root so new growth will not double

love this plant it is so amazing
I plant them where my hose doesnt reach since they can take lots of dry heat and sun
with 2.5 acres lol I afford a hose to reach every where

now here is a tip for you, if you ever want to move or divide one always do it in the early spring
most one moved in the fall with not survive and if they do will take up to take up to three years to bloom again lol
