We have been having very nice spring-like weather and the birds are in full bloom. The male Cardinals are singing like crazy and the females seem to be everywhere. I have a lot more of them coming to the feeders and they have been very nice about posing for the camera! Here is a female...
Bird Watching Daily Pics Vol. 194
All great shots Rose but I love your male cardinal and the blue jay. Almost feel like I am right there!
Dave
Great shots Rose! Love the male Cardinal and female RB Woodpecker.
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Beautiful shots knip!
beautiful Kite Margaret!
Nice start Rose! I like the singing Dickcissel, I'm sure I can see it's tongue, looks like it was giving it's all!
Great capture of the Black-shouldered Kite Margaret!
My superior drake Mallard, with the sweet white one again, he seems to be looking after it. I had just put out some wild bird seed mix which the female Pheasants like more than bread, along came these two! The cock Pheasant was not perturbed, he ate the bread, the drake only scooped a couple of pieces of bread, they weren't too bothered about me being near either.
They are sweet wallaby!
Nice pics Rose! You have squirrels?
Thanks Wallaby and Pelle!
Wallaby...that second shot is screaming for a caption...it is adorable!!
Pelle, that squirrel was up in the far corner...we don't have them in the yard.
Oh...Okay. Is there any other reason I need to be envious of you...let me know now so I can get it all out of my system,LOL!!!!
OK Rose, caption requests accepted, lol!

Great job duc! The Anna's is beautiful! Love the Wren too!
LOL Wallaby!! Reminds me of when I was growing up...my Mom was English/Dutch and my Dad full bloodied Filipino. I looked just like my Dad and when I would call my Mom people would really check us out!! We always thought it was very funny!
Duc..Love the Bewick's and hope you have babies soon. I have had a Bewick's spend the last two winters here but always leaves at the first sign of spring. They are feisty little birds and sure know how to stick up for themselves! Love your Anna's too, can't wait for our RT's to show up.
The Common Grackles are cleaning up the bird seed in the yard.

Hello Everyone! DH and I have just returned from a couple of days at Peaks of Otter Lodge, near Bedford, Virginia. On the way back, we noticed this Ruffed Grouse beside the Blue Ridge Parkway. We also had a Phoebe that was VERY annoyed with us because we were staying in a room right next to an eaves that he had chosen as a nest site.
LOL
Very neat wb!!! Hope you had a great time! Nice pic of the Grouse!
Thanks, Pelletory. Probably not the smartest thing to do: stopping on the winding Blue Ridge Parkway. Luckily, no one came up behind us. I had never seen a Grouse, so it was worth taking the chance.
:-)
