Strange goings on - a virus maybe!

se qld, Australia

DH and I share a connection - I just got 2 very strange emails from the same place, one saying 'recommended by [him]', the other 'recommended by [me]'! Hmmm.... I donnn't thinnk sooo! I don't 'do' that stuff - it annoys the heck out of me when I receive them, so I wouldn't do it to anyone either, and I'm not really in the habit of sending stuff to myself - not often, anyway!;) Be wary if you get anything like this - I can only assume there was a virus at the other end of a click!

I thought the abuse address at an ISP was for reporting spam. It's hardly abuse if a person contracts a computer virus out of ignorance and it is sent on, often without their knowledge.

No, but the ISP can at least contact the user who has the virus to alert them. It's possible to have a virus, and not know it, I suppose.

Also, the ISP can take measures to stop the virus on their server, before it can reach their customers box.
