New Yard - probably a California Native

Encinitas, CA

I'm moving into a new home with a large hill in the backyard. Most of it is filled with beautiful California natives (I'm in north San Diego county). I'm new to the natives so need a little help. This plant must not need a lot of water, because there are many thriving on my rocky hillside and have not had supplemental water in over 8 months. Thank you in advance for helping me name the plant pictured!

Hi Kara,

You will have better luck getting your plant identified if you post the photo to the Plant and Tree Identification forum here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/plantid/all/ Lots of very knowledgeable people hang out there, and not too many people frequent this forum, as it's mainly for help with the PlantFiles database.

Happy Gardening,

I'm curious, looks like something in the salvia (sage) family to me. If you start a new thread will you post a link here?
