Plant Show

(Zone 1)

Kim, Congratulations! When are you closing on your new house and moving in? It looks like a great house and will be even more beautiful once you get moved in and get it all decorated according to your taste! How cool ... the "Flamingo" room is already pink! Perfect! Looks like a good size house with plenty of room for plants! Great backyard too, lots of possibilities for trees and shrubs and flowers! Is that a deck I saw off the kitchen? There is a lot of stress with a big move like that, but just take it one day at a time, don't over do and wear yourself out the first day, take time to rest, sit back and enjoy your new surroundings!

(Zone 1)

Mortswife: I truly believe that all children are a gift from God, and all are special. Adopted children are "chosen" which makes them even more special! I have always felt things happen for a reason. Life gives us so many lessons, so many stories. I could write a very long book with stories about my family, and the lessons I've learned, and blessings I've received.

Your daughter will find her way, maybe the third time will be the charm. Or maybe, if there isn't much hope for the third marriage, she will at least learn something from it. This journey we're all on can have many twists and turns, and some folks take longer than others to find what makes them happy.

Kim - with a big backyard like that . . . even if you DO have to eat rice and chicken noodle soup for the rest of your life . . . you could raise your own chickens! (ok, yes, this is going on the belief that the house is zoned for animals)

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

So well said Lin!!
Kim,
I just love your new house and yard.It looks so beautiful and spacious. If you have to eat chicken soup and rice or hamburger helper.mac and cheese etc. for a little while it is still so worth it.
Congrats,Lynn

(Zone 1)

I've been eating chicken noodle soup, mac & cheese, rice and even hamburger helper for years! It's nutrition, right? ^_^

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I was even doing the top ramen noodles, until I saw how much sodium was in them!

(Zone 1)

I've never tried Ramen noodles. I've heard they are a staple with college kids ... must be affordable!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Dimmer, I posted on the other forum........loving your new house.

Lin, you are a very wise woman! Every single life is precious to God and He wants us to have our deepest desires. I know that He wants Mortswife's daughter to have that peace that passeth all understanding. I pray you stand strong behind her and help her to believe in herself and that she deserves all good things, Mortswife.............

Many times it takes people 30, 40 or 50 years to find this peace we all deserve.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

They used to be 5 for a buck. Now the price is higher ^_^
I love to eat them.

Gosh! what a wonderful show, Bonnie! I especially liked the pictures of the people. I have spoken to Gary Mikita several times on the phone & he LOOKS just like he SOUNDS! I wish you's given the camera to someone & jumped in a picture yourself!
all those happy faces! But then who wouldn't be happy surrounded by all those beautiful gessies! I thought King Henry was a winner.
which are the smallest streps? Lilliputana looked tiny. I wondered if she truly was?

(Zone 1)

Bonnie, When you click on Dimmer's link, scroll down that page on that thread ... her new house pictures are down towards the bottom!

Love the sharing of photo's from shows! Wow, look at that table full of bloomers in the first photo! I'm afraid I'd be in huge trouble if I ever went to a show, because I would spend a fortune on plants! I love that new Sinningia Heartlands Flashlight, gorgeous color on that bloom, is that one a full size, mini, semi mini? Love it! The Strep's are gorgeous too ... especially that one called Water Color!

Thanks for sharing your pic's!

Gosh Bonnie what beautiful flower you all sold... I wish I could have gone... The last one I went to mostly had Av's and hardly had any Streps...

hi there;
i think flashlight is a mini sinn. it's brand new, almost no one has it. our past president had put it in the show & i talked him out of it. lol i have to grow him a baby of it. & yes lilliputana is truly vey small, probably the longest leaf it has is about 4 inches long & thats an adult plant.now to go look at kim's new house^-^

(Zone 1)

I forgot to ask ... is Lilliputana a sinningia? I like the looks of that plant. I love the mini's and micro mini's.

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

no, it's a mini strep species.thanks.

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Great pictures Bonnie! I'm so glad you had a nice turnout and such a wonderful time.

Wytheville, VA

Sooo... where can a find a liliputana??? It would be very helpful to use to breed smaller streps. i have not even heard of it before.

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

well, i will put you on my list as i have some from seed, but are not big enough. Most people have not herd of it, don't know why, as it is the mother for fernwoods minuite & siloutte.the hybridizers are all tryng to make smaller streps & she is definately the smallest.
