Saved the seed from the red ornmental grass from last year!
Guess what? None germinated!! These do not come back from seed. Have to divide up clumps or try to overwinter it. Zone 5 here.
Did start some dark leaved millet and it is comming up. Bought the seed and will save mine for next year!! Saving seeds saves lots of $$ and have plants to share..

Red Fountain grass is an annual for you and for me. It is a zone 8,9 and 10 plant. I learned that the hard way. Walmart sold them last year here as a perennnial. It said that on the container. I lost 5 plants.

Sorry yours didn't come up, maybe it is too early! They should be ok at your zone. I know that they are slow to start up again. Keep them in ground and hopefully in another month you will get new growth.

Thanks geraldine, I was going to pull them up next week but I think I will take your advice and wait. I really want them to come back.
