Faked You Out

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Fine, fine job BB, nothing like handpainted pumpkins to start the day!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Well from rear to front, first is the handpainted, then a genuine article, a cherry tomato and 2 mountain ash berries!! LOL!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Nice, that front one original looks like a hand painted too as it blends so nicely with the rear one. Nice layout looks like an artist's rendition.

Thanks! `blush`!~ I was just messing around.

That big pumpkin plant I have ion the garden is slowly getting done. I cannot beleive how huge that one vine got and I could not have grown one that big if I tried! The genuine one was the first to come available.

Yano, this is a tough thread to do! I have been racking my brains for fake outs. Teri was good at it!

BTW, where is she???

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

She went to spend time with her family. I am sure she will return as soon as she is able. Meantime we will keep her in our thoughts and keep that cafe tidy and she doesn't need to return to a mess here! Right?
I'll get more into the fake outs when the weather changes. Only time I spend here now is a few minutes a day from work. When I get home there is just so much to do. I have been trying to cut things back and pot up the tender stuff and just the other day a hundred tulip bulbs arrived from an order I placed that I had forgotten and I don't even have a clue where to put them. I guess I had planned to put them in the zinnia area but they are still going strong so can't get the bulbs planted yet, plus been so dry the ground is hard as cement.
Then there is also the seed gathering.
Hey guess what I found the other day BB? Many years ago I purchased this bikini, yes I said bikini, and I got it from spiegel catalog as it look cute and a colorful pattern. Well the first time I put it on my daughter said, that looks hideous mom. When I asked why she said, "because it has Michael Jackson's face all over it!" I replied what!!! and then I went to look in the mirror and low and behold it was MJ's art deco face all over the suit, on each cheek in the back and in the front and on the bandeau top! Well off it came and I thought I had pitched it. When he passed I said to Tasha, too bad I got rid of that bikini.
Well the other day I was in an old drawer looking for old knee high hose to cover the heads of my sunnies to catch the seed and what do you know, there was that bikini!!!
So guess now it has got to go to ebay, I never even took out the hygenic liner as I didn't have it on long enough! Problem now is who can model it for the ebay photos lol!!!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

ROTFLMBBO!

Yeller polkadotted it aint! well good luck on that. Im not much on MJ. The guy freaked me out! He was a wee tad toooo artsy fartsy if ya catch my drift!... Im one of those that likes the Rat Pack generation tunes! Big band era stuff.... I dont think I would like MJ adorning my keester either! Or the rest of the story for that matter! LOL!

Well, to solve yer tulip dilema, if you have some nursery cans, stick about 4-5 bulbs in each and plant them in those. You can sink the cans in the dirt later when the zinnias are done and the critters will have a time trying to disturb them. Saves work later too when you need to lift them and divide. I do all my daffs that way. If you dont have any, perhaps your local GH has a cleanup pile in isle 13 behing the shed you can scarf some to re-cycle.

OH gads.. now that tune Itsy Bitsy is bouncing in my head.. Lordy its the voices I swear!! LOL!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

What are nursery cans?
MJ wasn't my cup of tea either so you can imagine my shock when Tasha pointed that out to me. I honestly just thought it was an unusual pattern for a suit. Guess it is like looking at the clouds sometimes you see something and other times you just see cloud patterns ! She thought I had lost my mind lol!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

duh, do you mean the nursery pots you get when you buy plants, those plastic ones. Of course and those are what I use for my dahlias so I can just pull up the pots, yes I have a bunch of them, duh, another blonde moment!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

....hmmm must snap fingers to wake haighr up out of the
70's hip-no-sis!

Snap....SNAP....wakey wakey, theeeeere you go dear, you wont remember the silly bikini other than an item to go on ebay!

Somedays the magic around here gets a weee bit weird!

Yes dear, the black plastic nursery cans most perennials come in. Well, most of them come in black, some are green, grey and well, I guess the modern world is getting hip to all sorts of colors! Just like the 70'S! ....And they come in all sizes too!

So take your pic!

Okay I am leaving now and should be there in the morning after December 12 and need half of those pots! Good lord girl! That is more than I have ever seen at a nursery around here and I just showed Steve cause he thought I had a lot!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL! Thats only about a thurd of the "collection"... we used to run a nursery then we moved and brought a lot of plants over.

Ok, they sent me over an "ink" blot.. well cloud blot actually... so what do you all see?

(Voice in head saying.. Oh please haighr, please not MJ on a bikini!)

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Oops, its a conspiracy I tell ya, the dang puter... hmmm ,ust have forgot to twitch nose again to make pic appear... lets go again....

Interesting sky, what is that in the foreground BB, looks like a row of light posts?

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Thats our grapevine trellis.. just put in the grapes this season so you cant see them. Theres daylilies around the thing too. Its gonna look like a green igloo when we get done. Monstor topiary! LOL!

So is that dumbo we see in the clouds?? Looked more Dumbo-ish a few seconds before I shot it!

They all look real except the poppy...love the kettle!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Well then I did fake you out. The original photo was the caladium in the pot on the table. I then added the cutout of the kettle then the dahlias, the white one is my hugeous white tree peony downsized and then the frame. Not bad eh?
