My heartleaf ice plant ( baby sunrose) bloomed for the first time this year on 03-29. It has 4-5 now. Elizabeth

Pretty pretty.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Dale, that is a beautiful combination in your mixed bed. How long do your geraniums bloom and do they make it through the summer? Mine usually give up when the temps heat up. They come back and bloom well each spring, but really look ragged through most of the year.

Crow

I took a few photos before the freeze, hope they don't turn out to be obituary photos.lol

Unknown bulbs, any ideas what these may be?

Salvia horminium (sp?)

This is an odd salvia, reseeds and blooms quickly each spring and fall, but totally absent during the summer. Hates the heat, which is so strange for a salvia. The purple is actually bracts, the blooms are the tiny white specks under the leaves.

My poor decapitated Mad Hatter, he was a sprinkler in a former life. Sporting a veronica bloom ;0)

One of my favorite combos, nepeta and black footed daisy.

LuLu, your bulbs are Ipheion http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=ipheion&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&searcher%5Bgrex%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search

Crow, my geranium bloom all year long, but, the summer flowers are pitiful and the plants get put in the shade. I don't water them more than once a week. There are many different hybrids (I don't remember the cultivar I have) and the one I have now is one of the few that will live thru summer - most don't.

The Jacaranda trees are starting to bloom>

Wow! That poppy is stunning, so is the Jacaranda tree! Y'all have shared some wonderful blooms.

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

oooooh, nice poppy bloom there.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

First Clematis bloom. Oops, you can't see the top of its head. That's b/c I was getting the buds in the pic too!

Appleblossom Amaryllis -- for some reason, it didn't grow very tall. It's just tall enough so the flower isn't on the ground.

Louisiana Iris - Sinfronietta or Sinfronettia or something like that -- lots of vowels in the name anyway!

This Angel's Trumpet has been blooming like crazy. It looks like it needs water right now, but it might rain.

Thumbnail by Elphaba

I'm holding out for rain too, need it!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Elphaba, spring is full swing in your garden! Congrats!

What a goof I am, I meant to say how lovely every thing looks as well! I must have rain on the brain, sorry.lol

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks y'all, and Cocoa, I was so glad that someone else was waiting for it! This wind though is a problem. Maybe I should water anyway. It's so hard to know.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

I went outside to take a few pics and that dang West Texas dust blew in. My throat and nose are itching like crazy so I hope the pics are worth it. LOL

First one is Hill Country Penstemon.

Next is a trio of Clematis.

The dark purple is the first two blooms of 'The President'.
The striped pink is one of the first blooms on 'Fireworks'
The whole plant picture is 'HF Young'.

Light pink is one of the first blooms on SDLM Rose. My favorite. It's covered in buds right now.

Ducher is one of the roses I planted in February.

Oh I love penstemon! So amazing how it looks a different color in different soils. Mine still has a days left before blooming.

Spider worts, worst name ever for such a dainty blue.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Yep, the pictures online of this Penstemon wild in the hill country shows in a darker pink. Mine is a medium to light pink.

Well, it's not West Texas dust after all. It's smoke from fires west of here. No wonder I was having some asthma issues along with the allergies. Yuck! I am not going back outside again.

Another dainty blue, I can never remember the name of...mollongolly blue...or something like that.

Oh, I love the byz glads. I keep wanting to buy some

Wow, Carefree Wonder is really blooming. Very pretty.

Oh no, what's burning?

Julia Childs and unknown iris. Got more rose pics today, but will post them in the rose forum, as to not burn out the non-rose people :0)

Don't dare buy any, remind me in the fall and I'll divide them!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Lynea~There are major grass fires west of the metroplex and the smoke and soot have been blowing this way. It's so icky!

That's terrible! I've has the tv and radio off all day. The smoke hasn't made it here, but the winds didn't pick up till late. I hope everyones homes and livestock are ok.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Steph answered for me. :) I will make my way over to the rose forum to enjoy more pics. I won't show you my poor Julia Child Rose. It's completely defoliated and looks half dead. It was covered in black spot last spring and it was too short for the place I had it originally so I moved it last month. When I dug it up, I was not very nice to it because it was not worth the trouble. Roses are so tough though so it should bounce back. Your picture reminds me why I bought it in the first place.

I am going to take you up on that and get some bulbs from you in the fall!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

The Dianthus is in all its glory right now. I have as many as 5 Hummingbird Moths visiting every evening.
