Hi,
The yellow things in the flower are most likely the anthers, which are the pollen sacs..not seeds. The small spike one which is in the center of the flower is the pistil. The very tip of this pistil is the stigma. At the very bottom of this pistil, inside of the flower, is the ovary of the flower..which BECOMES THE SEED CAPSULE if it becomes fertilized. The pollen of those yellow things (anthers) needs to get onto the stigma for the flower to get fertilized, hence getting a seed capsule. You can cut a small piece of the yellow anther, let the pollen fall onto your finger, then dump the yellow pollen onto the stigma (if the stigma is sticky, it is the best time to become fertile). The seed capsule will start to grow if fertilization took place. It can take 7 months for the seed capsule to mature. The seeds are ready when the capsule turns brown. At that time, remove the capsule..let it dry one month. You can plant the seeds then or save them.
African violets are easily propagated by leaf cuttings. I did this as a kid with much success. However, seed saving is also a challenge that many of us like to undertake. Good luck :)
