While you are up.....would you get me....the....

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Why is it that nobody is in dire need of something until I get up off my tush to go and fetch something?

Or, if I head outside to do something in the garden.... something else is needing to be done out there and so 'while you are out there would you........' is the last thing I hear as I head out the door.

I went outside today to weed --a warm sunny glorious day... The snow melting last week got the ground ready for great weeding...... but no sooner did I head outside with gloves in hand and a happy heart....... I heard the 'hinges need to be spray painted before the (newly painted) bedroom doors are hung' and 'could (I) do that?' (I screw the hinges into foam board and when I spray --the screws and the hinges get painted together -- it works out real well.) Why would a man who wants silver hinges purchase gold colored ones anyway???? Must be the same reason he buys beige switchcovers and then wants them white to match the molding. Eeech.

Think I've been there..friends all kid me about how much I can accomplish..they keep asking DH's to get to the projects, lorday, we women have the ability to get it done..I have a sister-in-law, each weekend they are going to accomplish so much, her DH has to think, work out the details, think again, see if there is a shortcut, think again, weekends gone...

Just get it done!!!

my husband built a ramp ...to drive the lawn mower up and into the shed (it didn't fit ...another story)...
this ramp..... it was worked out on paper... it was worried about and anguished over...it has an infrastructure that would assure a tank being driven over it (the tank won't fit in the shed either) ... the planks were nailed, screwed and glued onto the supports and look so darn great even tho they are turning up at the sides where no glue, nails or screws have gone.. anything could live on top of and under this ramp .... but they would have to evict the resident snake first.
