Good afternoon... I live in Sunny South Florida. We have an acre property that is very tropical. (Mostly bromeliads, some bamboo trees, etc)
Anyway I found this spider near my pool, and it looks a bit like a hobo spider, but I'm leaning towards a grass spider. Any thoughts?
I don't think it's dangerous, is it?
Well thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you all!
CLOSED: Help identifying this spider
This spider is in the family Pisauridae (fishing/dock/nursery web spiders); likely the six-spotted fishing spider, Dolomedes triton - see http://tinyurl.com/c8eyla for an image. They are close relatives of wolf spiders, and like them, are active hunters that do not spin a capture web. Basically harmless to humans, large specimens can deliver a painful bite if mishandles.
