JoAnn, it looks great!!! Now, I'm really getting antsy. Jeff made few drill holes in a short section of wall that is kinda like a beam to see what was in there. He has been spending a lot of time on his drawings even to diagramming all the sheets of plywood to be the most efficient AND economical.
KITCHEN done but for the tile
Good planning! Sounds like an engineer.

Hee-hee. Yes, he is.
Love it Jan.
I'm like that about my gardenplans.
While all of you older gardners stop laughing, at least it kept me from going crazy all winter.
I made graphs and measurments from exhisting plants to know howmany and where to put new orders.
Oh Jo Ann!
What a heavenly place your new kitchen is! It's stunning, and I love the island, and the under cabinet lighting.
It looks great!!!
Yes, Greg we'll all be over for dinner.
Forgot to say ..... you're less than an hour from me so I may really take you up on it!!!!
I smell a cook off a-brewin'!!!!
NObody beats MY lasagna!!!
^_^
My neighbor makes the BEST lasagna I've ever tasted. My step mil is Italian and hers doesn't even come close.
I love stuffed shells, but hardly ever make them!
(Of course, the cook-off would all be in GOOD spirit!!)
We may just have to have a progressive dinner, starting at Willie's and then on to the next spot. Oh, wait, that would take weeks if not months , then who would do our gardening? Guess that's out of the question. :)
Progressive is where you have one course then move on to the next house for the next course!!
Fun stuff!
LOL, Sherry.
A progressive dinner starts with appetizer at one home then move to another for the next course and so on. It's really kind of fun. That is if the houses aren't too far apart.
Oops, we cross-posted, Willie.
Nobody beats my eggs!
Do you use a whisk or a fork, Victor?
That was a joke!
I know .... hehehehe
JoAnn - I love how the kitchen turned out.....I see lots of great features there, and that shiny floor is really pretty too!!
Willie - I like the idea of a "favorite recipes" thread. I'm in need of a few new ones too, but I also have a couple of good ones to share.
Now I'm getting really hungry! Drat!
Just making one of my fave easy, fast and healthy ones. Rachel Ray's tomato sauce with garbanzo beans - yummy!!!
Ohhhhh Jo Ann...I am so sincerely jealous of your beautiful kitchen. It came out fantastic and was worth the wait. Easy for me to say huh! But, really, it is outstanding.
I will out chili any of you "cooks" any day
Now there's a dare! ^_^
Beef stroganoff is my specialty.
I am jealous, too Venu!! Even though mine was remodeled in 1990 (not too far back)
I have been craving Beef Stroganoff, I even mentioned it a couple of days ago, saying "I haven't had that in ages! Yum!
Nobody can beat my stuffed cabbage.
I love beef stroganoff! I would love a good stove top method of makng it. No condensed soup. Does anyone have the secret recipe? And willing to share? Candy??
OMG!!!! Are you perchance Polish, Jen??
I absolutely LOVE golmupki or Gołąbki or, golabki, orGolumpkies, or Golumpkis, or WHATever you want to called stuffed cabbage!!!
Now, I am remembering all kinds of warm fuzzies of the past at grandma's.
100% Russian
I have a great stroganoff recipe, I'll get it for you the next time I go upstairs to the kitchen.
I do stuffed cabbage too...we call them "tails".
Russian .... Polish ..... anything -ski is close enough for Jazz!! (in the spirit of full disclosure ...I am of Polish descent)
One of my projects in college when I worked for the Music Library was to transliterate all the books in the back log that were in non-Romanized alphabets. My favorite were the Russian and the Greek volumes (because they were the easiest to transliterate).
I would take my "version" of the transliterations to the languages department and have the professor give it a quick once over, and the Russian professor said he wished all his students were as accurate as I was right out of the gate!
Вы говорите по-русски тоже?
Are you upstairs yet Jen?
Unfortunately my parents never taught us the Russian language. Our last name ended in -sky

I missed out on learning Polish .... They only spoke it when they didn't want us to know what they were talking about!!
Sounds like an awesome recipe, Jen. Thanks!!
Out of all the ones I've tried this one tops them all. Even Hubby thinks so.
OK .... I did it!
I started a thread, using what's planned for tonight.
Come! Add! Yum!

Thanks Jen, I'm definitely going to make that one!
Sorry I am late in posting this but the kitchen looks great! I love your countertops!!! G O R G E O U S! And the light about the sink is awesome!
I love that Stroganoff recipe. I make mine in the crock pot, though, at least until the last stages, and it's really simple ...
I make this recipe and then divide it in half. Serve one. Freeze one.
5 lbs stew beef
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
6 cups water
1 cup chopped onions
Put all in the crock pot and let it go for about eight hours until the meat is tender. The onions usually cook way down so that kiddos don't see them.
Then I divide it in half and put one half in a big pot. I bring it to a boil and thicken it with cornstarch. To this I add:
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp ketchup
3 oz softened cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 Tbsp beef base
If we have mushrooms, then I add them in, but the kiddos don't eat them very often. I serve it over cooked noodles, of course.
