The microwave was installed in a "stock cabinate".
DD chose this to keep price down.
It was too high for an average height person.
A six footer could manage it but we are average the door, when opened came to my arm pit.
Dangerous to reach across the door to retrieve hot food.
My recomendation is either buy a Micro with side opening door or pay the extra to have the cabinate cuatomized, it's what we had to do in the long run.

Your posts of what you cooked over the holidays were fantastic.
And lets not leave out presentation.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Jo Ann!

I have a true passion for making food I don't know who to blame on, my guess is grandmom.

Mom specialized in making carbon-based foods!

he he he
I was a pretty good cook until the diabetes.
Then I had to be a clever cook in order to keep carbs. at a minimum.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I would love it if you would post some of your favorite recipes .....

I am at a loss what to make for my neighbor .....

I like to take things over to those neighbors who are true "neighbors."

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

Looks great! congrats

Willie - please consider a separate thread for your favorite recipes. I've been the weeknight cook for a couple of years now but still consider myself a newbie. I am always looking for fast, easy and healthy recipes. I'm a big fan of the '30 minute meal'!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I thought about a NE Forum's Favorites!

Wasn't sure if that should be placed in the recipes forum.

Then, I thought, if it was in the recipes forum, it would get lost to the NE people.

Do you think NE forum folk would join in on one and add their favorites?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I dont see why not Willi.

Abington, PA(Zone 6b)

I've got a number if recipes I can contribute. Cooking is my true passion, especially Italian cuisine.

ge, in the first picture is that an independant center piece used for preparing foods? I've always wanted a ktchen with one of those.

Greg

If I would've read all the posts first I'd have had the answer to my question...DUH!

Its an island with electrical out let. Big cupboards on the side facing the cooktop.
We store the deep pots there, also the bread machine and Kitchenaide mixer.
the long sides have an open lower space for pie plates and cooking casseroles, baking tins ,bread pand, mixing bowles.
Two drawers on the side of the dishwasher for baking small stuff like beaters, masurib=ng cups and spoons and towels.
It was a great space when we bought the house 2 yrs ago but over time we wanted electric to it.
I forgot to ad a all over the kitchen feature I also like"self closing drawers" what a world.

Jo Ann it looks great!

will NOT be sharing this with my wife - she's been after me to replace the sink and the faucet has been leaking for 2 years when the hot water is turned on. i told here it would be better to replace the cabinets and counters to hold her off

too busy with gardening :)
