Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Well, I don't like to waste . . .so what doesn't go in the mix, will find a place somewhere, I'm sure! ^_^

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Beer is awesome in making your own fertilizer........there are many recipes in the brug forum and the one I listed is for orchids, but all my plants outside love it!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Oh, ammonia smells nasty! I just made a batch of your orchid formula Gail . . .

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Gail, didn't I tell you that it would work! LOL!! I keep a batch mixed up all the time, I use it on everything. I even use a diluted mix on my av's. Everything seems to love it.

Williston, ND

so how do you make this stuff

JIM

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I just mixed the beer, water, epsom salt, and ammonia in a bowl, and stirred until the salt was dissolved. I haven't put any into a gallon of water yet.

Highland, IL

WOW, I had some fish sauce in jar that I had to buy for a recipe I had to make. Its one of those things that will sit in my frigde until ......who knows when. I hope I didn't throw it out!! Will this help them to bloom or is it for foliar feed for mainly the leaves?

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Just mix everything together and make sure that it is dissolved good. Mix one tablespoon with one gallon of water. I use it on everything, plumerias, adeiums, brugmansias. In the summer I use two tablespoons per gallon of water on my brugs. They are heavy feeders to begin with. This stuff is awesome!! You guys have got to try it!!

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

Jim-- scroll up on this thread to the March 5 posts-- there are several different recipes there.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Ack!!! DH dumped out my mix!!! Now, I'll have to make some more! Good thing I got a BIG can of beer! I still have 12oz left . . . I took some mix to work this morning, and watered a few guinea pigs . . . we'll see how they turn out after a day or two.

I did see Fish Sauce in the Asian food section at the grocery store today - 2 actually. I'll get the $1.97 one . . . the $6.97 one was in a prettier bottle . . .

so what does this stuff do and how do you use it,

JIM

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Jim, just make sure that everything is disolved really well. Mix one tablespoon with one gallon of water. Either feed directly into the soil or spray. This is really awesome stuff!! I use it on everything. For my av's I only use 1/2 tablespoon to a gallon of water. You'll see a big difference in just a few days.

Williston, ND

im willing to try it

JIM
