Tools that WORK

(Maggi) Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

I am having trouble finding hose shut-off valves that work for more than a month of daily use.

I am fairly certain there are other gardeners who are looking for specific tools that would work for them, or would like to know others' experience with various garden tools.

I have looked but have not found a forum here for garden tool reviews or tool repairing hints, or maintenance of tools, or' whatever' tools.

I think most of us would rather spend our vanishing funds on tools that will last, on tools we can repair and having spent the $ would appreciate tips on caring for our favorite tools.

Maggi, Have you checked out http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/shed/all/

Post your question / concern about your shut off valve there.
I know I have better luck with the metal shut offs them the plastic ones, that is if you can find them.

Thanks a million!

For some reason I thought that forum was for building garden sheds - LOL!

If you have a farm supply store nearby, try them. That's where I got my metal one. I use it instead of a nozzle on my calf barn hose for filling the calves' water buckets. Our local one is Farm & FLeet. There is also Fleet Farm, and maybe Tractor Supply would have something like that. Closest one of those is 60 miles away from us. Obviously I don't go there when Farm & Fleet is 10 minutes. :>)

Thank You!
