WNY Orchid Show @ The Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Garden

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - spectacular! Thanks for sharing. I'll check the other ones in turn. Don't want to rush!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Victor!

You'll want to pace yourself, I did go kind of crazy with the photos .... I hope that is OK

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I am moving on to the cactus house with you. Thanks so much. What a treat. Patti

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

With all you (and everyone else, too!!) have generously shared, Patti, it is the least I can do.

I am so glad you are enjoying it! Thank you!

Thomaston, CT

Ooh, Willie---spectacular! Really want that purple one!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Well, Robin ... I am SOOOO planning on getting some (at least ONE) this year .... I am trying for seeds, but I hear that is hard ..... Logee's has them for offer, so I might break the bank and shop there for it .....

I will definitely try my hand at propagating them, so, YOU are now first on the list of recipients of the clones, if you want one!

Thunbergia grandiflora ... or Sky Blue Vine, among other things.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Love your favorite one! I'm looking forward to the orchid show at the NYBG.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm jealous you are so close to that, Victor. I've been to the NYBG, but not during a show, much less an Orchid Show!

Please, feel free to rub it in when it comes ....... with many photos!!!

^_^

Sure will.

Very nice, Willie! I will have to look at the other thread later. I'm having a great time in Texas, btw.

NICE, I love the one in post 6202760

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

I love the way they have displayed them also. Very nice. Thank you for sharing.

Thats a great venu for the show.
The orchid show here is held in a conference room of the Cornell Co-op Extention bldg across from Highland Park.
We will have the Gaeden Show here in a couple of weeks about the 11th of March.
There are a few landscape places thet win prizes but the show is leaning less toward flower and plant exhibits to the big landscapers with installed patios of interlocking stones and out door furniture.
My friend from Oriental Garden Supply does a beautiful Zen Setting every year. I always like to see his display and pass on the people selling pavers.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I am glad you all enjoyed the Orchid Show at our beautiful Botanical Gardens.

I am re-enjoying the tour myself with my morning cup of coffee! I am so thankful for Digital Cameras .... could you imagine the cost at developing over 300 pictures??!!??

I Bet! you are having a great time in Texas, Karen!

I had to give up on favorites, Jen!! There were VERY few that weren't beautiful!

Thanks for coming "back east," Jeanette! I am happy to share!

I'm with you JoAnn, I'd be people paver passing, too!

I was a bit disappointed that the Home & Garden show, which was also this weekend, got way more media attention.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

The "hard scape" people buy big display areas so they help defray the costs of the show.Too bad too because it gives the appearance of being waaaaay comercial instead of garden centers and nurseries displaying their new plants.
I also like the small businesses that have garden sculpture and specialty fountains.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I am not sure I "like" big business ..... seems like there is always trouble associated with them.

I have long been a fan of supporting local, small business first. I am even willing to pay a little more to shop with them.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Love the tour Willie.....I want one of each!!
