Fungus ?

Frankfort, KY(Zone 6a)

I started some lettuce 4 days ago, pots covered with bubble and found this yesterday.
I lightly sprayed with some rabbit poo tea with some H2O2 (hear that's works on fungus).
As I sprayed the white 'fungus' to disappear.
Is this fungus , and what else can it be treated with ?
The bobble wrap is off now that they are up.

mold on soil = soil too wet. I lost several pots of seedlings this spring, due to damping off/mold.

Thanks Kay, I'll let them dry out a little.

Another little tip: surround the seedlings with Perilite and you won't get mold.

I've been using fish emulsion on my tomatoes and getting that nasty mold too. I find if I put a layer of vermucilte on top of my seed starting mix,it will keep down the mold.

Perilite, Vermucilte, I'll try that, I have both and will start my peppers, maybe tomorrow.

Seed starting mix should be about as damp as a well wrung out sponge. Any more than that, and you'll see the mold.

It is such a fine line to walk to get the right amount of moisture in the mix. The roots are about the size of a thread, so can only take up as much moisture as a thread would. I try to err on the dry side of mix moisture, but it is difficult.

I'd let them dry out some...and the perlite/vermiculite is a good suggestion as well.

Thanks everyone, I let them dry a little and things look great.
I worried about them sprouting, I guess I kept them too wet, never had this before

We all tend to 'hover' and want to 'do' something. We can't help it, we're gardeners.
