Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

Love the pics! I can't wait for mine to come in.
Wow, that's alot of ducks! In what capacity do you use the ducks or is it just for a hobby?

We used to show chickens & ducks and sell fertalized eggs on ebay & eggbid. A 4H project that got completely out of control.....

Sweet! I want ducks tooooo!! (Best whiney voice I could come up with)

The big white Peking in the 4H show picture was owned by Loren, She was home schooled kind of out in the boonies and Daisy (duck) and a chicken she has were her friends. She has clothes for them and wagons etc. She took the best care of them and when daisy would win (Which she always did) Daisy would quack and jump up and down and kiss Loren.

Daisy got to watch everyone else show.

I loved that duck.

I would love to. I love seeing everyones pictures! They are sweet and soft looking. I liked Claires video of bathtime. I also watched a video with a baby duck that just follows its owner everywhere!!! CUTE!!!!

I have to confess (please don't tell my chickens), but I wish I had found out about ducks sooner. They really are my favorite group of birds. I just love them. You should purchase some, and as ducklings, they are so sweet.

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

They arrived! Abit strange though. I went down to the P.O. this morning to see if they were in and she said it would be tomorrow as the second delivery had arrived w/out them. I got a call at 12:40 and she said they were in. Don't know if they accidently went to the wrong PO first or?
Anyhoo! They threw in 8 chicks(looks like the same breed of extras I got w/ the last delivery of chicks.) DH just moaned abit! Everyone is happy thus far. I let them have water for 15 minutes and took it out as two of the ducks kept on drinking. I'm going to put it back in a few minutes. The hatchery warns of ducks over-drinking so I'm on the lookout.
Here's some pics! Here's one of the Tufted Roman Goslings in the front, Pekin Duckling to the left and all those chickies!

Very cute! I believe mine will arrive tommorrow, since they did not today. They were shipped from Texas on the 11th.

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

They had said it was going to be the 11th but they shipped on the 10th. They did the same thing on my last shipment so I was surprised when they weren't there first thing this morn.
The geese are just too cute! They are so fat compared to the ducks!

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

They are just too cute for words. I am gone so much now I will have to live this yeaars ducklings vicariously through all of you!

OH...OH.. I LOVE WOOD DUCKS!

Just the thought of wood ducks brightens my agraveing-hugely-overworked-not-even half-over-dAY IN THIS GODFORSAKEN PLACE FAR AWAY FROM MY PLANTS AND PETS and husband......

ok.. i feel better now.

I think I better go buy a plant for my desk.. or better yet...a little tub with a baby duck.... Hey sorta like a fish in a little globe....I like it.....hummm.. maybe not wet duckie footprints on my keyboard....

If you look at the second photo, Eliza is sitting in front of my computer. She walked on my keyboard often...especially when chasing the mouse arrow ;o) She is in the process of looking for a place to nest. I hope that she chooses a place close to the house and/or that she will bring the new grandducks by so that duck(grand)mother can see them.

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

Oh..I see it. She is sooooooo cute.

I told my boss once I wouldn't put the large green and white "Keep The Country In Country" bumper sticker onthe back of his little black Porsche becasue it would white trash his car.... He said "What do you know about white trash?"

"Buddy.. I raised goats in the house and ducks in the bathtub."

Nothing more was said.......

LOL

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

Just an update on the babies.
Here's a pic w/ the Pekin and the Roman Tufted Geese. I kept the chicks w/ them as I didn't have the space to raise them separately. They get along very well as you can see!
