Before the first set of true leaves could grow. Is that the end of my eggplant?

Did just one cotyledon break off? If so it should recover.

Hey I got a little happy taking the seedcoats off of the newly emerging seedlings one day (yes I know, I must learn to just be patient and let nature take its course). I accidentally pulled off a cotyledon with the seedcoat. I almost trashed the seedling but decided to leave it and see what would happen. It survived and is now producing adult leaves. If it was just one cotyledon, it may be alright so don't give up hope yet! :) Stacey

It is both of them they were still in the seedcoat my 2 year old somehow got a toy on my plants... He only broke the 1 and a label on another.

Yeah I've got 4 of those; still don't quite know how I managed to survive my youngest two when they were twin 2 year old demolishion crew! We used to call them "double trouble"! Oh well, 2 doesn't last for long - enjoy it! ;)
