I just edited my list post for the swap, http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=6388582
I'll hopefully have some additional things to post on there after I'm done digging etc. tomorrow... lots of winter sown seedlings to pot up if I get the chance, that sort of thing, but any extras from there will also be available this fall if I don't get to them now.
Please check to make sure I found your request(s) and let me know what I missed.
I especially need to know about interest in larger things like Rose of Sharon & Crooked Willow.
Thanks!
Ric and Holly’s Spring Plant Swap May 16th
if you have a spare crooked willow I would love one.... and any peppers you have to spare
Jill, could I please get a paste and a cherry tomato? Whichever varieties you have extras of.
Just want to make sure that I didn't miss anyone when I sent out my address and phone# info. I have just sent out directions for any of you that will be traveling North on Rt 15 to get here. You can use my address to get Mapquest directions. If anyone needs additional directions or info just D-mail me.
As soon as John and I have showers, we will be hitting the road and heading northward. Yippie, I sort of feel that I have been a prisoner here all winter long. I am like Critter, and just need to get out and among like minded people and I will be happy as a lark.
We are leaving a very pretty hillside adorned with loads and loads of Iris. We have had several people in the past couple of years share their bounty with us and this is the first year that most of them have bloomed. Everything is really pretty.
Critter, I hope the headache dissapates before Saturday. I have been there and done that deal and it is certainly no fun.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Ruby
Critter, Don't know if it's the weather, but I've had a migraine keep returning all week.
OK, I hereby declare an end to all migraines (at least through the weekend). I'm doing better today, just groggy from the time difference and all.
I have the Curly Willow and it gets HUGE and you can't plant it near your water source because the roots head for water. Bob wants to chop ours down this fall. I have put in a Golden Chain Tree to replace it and I can handle that. The curly willow is a lovely tree and the branches make wonderful tee pee trellises but if you sit it on the ground, it will grow roots and you'll have a rooted leaved trellis.
Sounds perfect for our house, Invasive is "in" at our house. LOL
My non gardening neighbor heard that "roots head for water" line and thought it meant the willow would migrate right into *his* yard, just sort of walk over into his lawn looking for water... then he worried that the roots would grow into *his* yard... last year, he commented on how beautiful that tree had grown, and how he'd noticed that the constant puddle in that low corner had dried up. LOL
I am in the migraine club as well.... yesterday was a killer
I would love a piece of curly willow!!!
Onewish, I've got a little cutting in there for you and two crooked willow cuttings for Holly also (all rooted). I'm not bringing extras, so if I missed anybody they'll have to hit me up for one in fall (they're not too big to mail, either). :-)
What was with the migraine nonsense? I could really have used another day to get my plants together... afraid I won't be able to bring everything I planned, although I think the car will be reasonably full regardless. LOL
oh thank you... you are the coolest!!!
A couple of people down here have had bad migraines the last few days, too. HMMM... barometric pressure? I don't know why I thought of that.
You all have a great time tomorrow.
yes barometric pressure always gets me... sad you can't come Jan
leaving soon... see ya guys there!!!!
