Found these blooming by the neighbor's fence - don't remember them blooming last year and not sure what type.

Found this little guy blooming out in the middle of the side yard. I didn't plant this and remember one small flower last year - looks like he'll have some friends this year:

Thanks Donna! I am just worried about a cold snap coming.....has been in the 30's at night generally but hit 27 last night. Didn't seem to hurt anything so here's keeping our fingers crossed. If we make it to the 2nd week in March we're probably safe.

Looks great Steve!! I will add some pictures tonight if I have a chance.

Howdy marie - looking forward to seeing your pictures!

Hi Steve, I'd add some spring blooming bulbs but it appears that you've covered most of them. So here is something difference. A Camellia japonica 'Pink Empress' I think. These semi-double blooms are big and cheerful this time of year.

Hi Donna, how is the weather where you're? Down South we're getting ready for the planting season ahead, in fact today will be the last "cool" day we've in a week-long forcast, after today temp. it will be spring like high 60'ish lows 40'ish -- ahhhhh common spring!!!. Maries, let's see some bloomings out West.

Hi Kim,

Our weather has been weird. It went up to 60 a couple of weeks ago, then down to 7 degrees a week ago, then 8 inches of snow last weekend, and today upper 30's. I am germinating seed in my basement under shoplights at this point in the year. It's fabulous to see Steve's bulbs. You too are WAYYYY ahead of us. Here's an image from last year in late April . Mount Hood daffs bloom with a yellow cup and then it turns white. Most of my daffs are middle or late because our last frost date is in May.

Steve, Nice to see there is hope. Only snowdrops so far here in the Northeast. I don't expect anything until the 2nd or 3rd week in March. My first will be most likely the reticulated Iris. No sign of them yet. Patti

Ooops, pardon everyone. I posted a wrong bloom in the Bulbs forum. I will return with bulbs blooming pictures later.

Kim,

Please do!

No worries Kim. Camellias are prettiful too ^_^

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Very nice camellia you have there, Kim. That is one plant I struggle with for some reason and bot of mine are looking rough with no flowers on either. Both produced a few blooms last year around this time. I am usually good with most plants but not these. Have any advice for me??

Love your "Mount Hoods" Donna - that is one variety I have been considering but have never tried. I have seen pictures showing them yellowish in the cup and also white, and now you have clarified that for me. I will have to add that to my list for next fall! :-)

Looking forward to seeing your blooms, Patti. You're blessed with a nicerelatively mild summer climate that the likes of Kim and I can only dream about while our states are furnaces - LOL You will be posting lilies long after we're finished.

Here is "Mulberry Rose" I got a few years back from OHG

Narcissus "Quail" starting to bloom - really early for this variety - last year did not bloom until well into March and even early April.

Steve, I posted some info. on Camellias on Chris' thread, did you read it? LOL, your flowers beds share alot commonalities with mine, it's as if we're brother and sister (with same taste in flower selection and design). BTW, I spotted your liliums among your lovely spring bulbs blooms.

LOL Kim I agree, we do have remarkably similar tastes. Thanks - I'll go over to the other thread and check out what you've said. Yes, you have a good eye - I have spotted some liliums starting to come up!!

Elgin, IL(Zone 5a)

Steve,

Your lilies are coming up in February? Is that normal? Are they the kind of early bloomers I get here, like Asiatics?

Emperor Tulip beds---

OK they are not blooming yet, but should be by end of March. I planted 100 ea of Tulip Purissima (aka White Emperor) and Tulip Albert Heijn (pink). Some catalogs list these as Fosteriana types.

Tulip bakerii Lilac Wonder --first buds

This is only about 6-8 in high but the buds and flowers are quite large. I planted these more than 5 years ago and they bloom every year in early March--the first tulip for me.

Hi Donna,

No, this is wayy too early for lilies - may have been one I planted last fall that doesn't know what the date is ;-) They will be emerging en masse however in another month.

I like the Grand Primos, Chris :-)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I luv them all ^_^

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)
