Wow! Great pics. Love that greenhouse!

Crestview, FL

Guys, the greenhouse didn't cost that much got it from Megagreenhouse, it's called the Dream House Green House; it was not easy to put up but very sturdy and I like the idea of the 12 window and 2 doors and you can actually zip it shut when it gets extremely cold and there are port holes you can open, 2 of them for water hoses or electric cords, not that a heater would be needed. There are straps that hold the flaps of the doors back and the windows if you want to have them open and a screen netting that is there you can unzip it too if you want or leave it to protect the plants in the greenhouse. I'm happy with it. It's anchored down really well and the only problem I foresee is tripping over the nylon ropes. LOL

Jay: I'm hoping to have really strong healthy tomatoes and think they are going to be strong and healthy too. The stems are already thickening up. My daughter and I are going to fill 4 more HE Buckets with coir half way up tomorrow with 4 more tomato plants and start the burying the stem routine in them too. LOL I might get lucky and have some good tomatoes this year!

JOY ---- JUST BE CAREFUL WITH THE HEAT BUILDUP! If everything is closed up during a sunny day the temp will really climb in there especially since you have it on the south side. I learned this the hard way when I left my portable greenhouse closed one day and burned up my plants. Other than that they are terrific.

TPlant: Unless it hits below 40 degrees it will remain open and even then I'd have to leave the windows open, there are screens in them so the air could get in and cool it, it does get entirely too warm in there I think unless that is done, my plants did really well with the doors and windows all open last night. My other plants under the lights in the bedroom are coming along now, so, what I'm going to do now is finish putting up all the tomatoes into the HE buckets and the 2 square footers and then put the cukes all up before leaving out of here Tuesday. I'm so glad a friend is coming home with me on the bus, don't know how you manage by yourself, I'm staggering the planting in the EBs so it will be more fun and not so much like work.

I have about 60 canna lilie due in March 16th so will have to get the beds prepared my little nephew will be here to help me with that, he does such a good job, he is 15 years old and him and I planted about 80 canna lilies last Spring in no time and he does such a good job and I enjoy having someone working with me. My brother's son in law is going to help get the trees in when they come in, my brother has a black thumb so is not allowed to touch any of the plants or vegetation here. LOL My brother's son in law is the opposite, everything he touches thrives, so, he is going to be the one to help me with the trees.

I always have fun with my nephew when I get steal him from his mom. LOL My daughters are grown now, so she has 3 children still at home and I go kidnap one every once in a while, we go out to eat and spend the day having fun. They usually spend a night or two when they come over. I got all my maters in now, except the cherry ones and they are not big enough yet and still under lights, along with the lettuce, spinach and cabbage. I then snatched up the now empty coconut coir starter kit, cleaned it and then repacked it with coir and planted 50 more cuke seeds, got them up under the dome and the heat mat under them. I only had around 30 of the cukes from the APS one, the coco coir kit holds more seeds.

Are you going to sell your veggies, or preserve them Farmer Joy?

Crestview, FL

Devota: Well most the cukes are pickling cukes as I want lime pickles so badly. LOL I have a rather large family actually, one brother and two sisters and the one sister has 4 children of which her eldest has 5 children and my brother's wife has 2 children and one of them has 9 children, I have neighbors and it will also hopefully give me some to can and preserve. LOL

I got the greenhouse up in time too, cause it has done nothing but rain all day today and is probably going to do the same tomorrow. I rolled the flaps up on the windows and tied the door flaps back though, as there is this netting that serves as a screen, so they are safe and can also get air that way and not get overheated in there.

I'm so happy for you Joy. I plan to do some pickling too, and canning salsa, etc. Hopefully

Well, it got down to 37 degrees last night, I checked on all the veggies, the tomatoes look fine of course; but I think the eggplants are in a bit of trouble; but, that was my own stupid fault, I should not have put them outside quite yet, they are finicky about temps, more so than another veggie for sure. I left both the doors and windows all unzipped except for the screens as I wanted them to get plenty of fresh air. I really need to get a thermometor.
