M3R,
Wonderful flowers... Do you only grow AV's? If you do you do a wonderful job at growing them...
Hugs,
Susan
February Blooms - V
Now I am glad I have a baby grown from a leaf of Combustible Pigeon (hate that name ^_^) as the flowers are so pretty with all that fantasy. Lovely m3.
I too like the Optimara 'Little' ones. I don't have any of the 'jewels' but I have ten varieties of the Little Indian series I recently separated from leaves put down in fall.
lbrabec - Thanks :-)
imadigger - The minis are what sucked me into this--I never knew AVs came in miniature sizes and when I found my first one at Lowe's in Feb 07, I quickly got hooked.
TurtleChi - I am mostly just into the AV's... As for other gessies, I do have a few petrocosmeas that I like a lot.
I got my first orchid the other night (First and only, I hope)
I have a few other more "boring" houseplants (Well, I consider them boring), and I also have a really sad jade plant I've had a few years that I call "Dennis the Menace" 'cos it's shaped kinda like a sling-shot and he used to always carry one of those in his back pocket... (well, my jade is prolly too droopy to resemble a sling-shot I s'pose--I can't figure out how to get the "trunk" to thicken up to support it's long "branches".. Maybe some day :-p)
GoldLeaf91011 - I had a few from the "Little Indian" series but got rid of them 'cos they're semi-minis and I try to stick to just minis... They were cute tho, and at least I can still visit them at their new homes :-D
Susan--your pet is beautiful! You are just full of surprises! LOL! I have leaves down, but they don't seem to be taking.
M3,
Just pinch back that jade or even prune a little if necessary. It will make the trunk thick and strong and get rid of weak branches.I have one that is probably 35 years old.It lives outside in the summer and has been crunched by tree branches, blown across the yard, pot and all, and attacked by birds many times.Leaves root by just sticking them in the dirt and cuttings root easily even in water.
Let's wait just a bit--as long as my leaves don't die, I will wait it out--It's been about 3 mos now. I wouldn't want you to alter the symmetry of your plants, especially when they are blooming! I will keep your offer in mind for the future if my leaves tank--Thanks Susan! BTW- the leaves I have are--
sp. China--sp. yumebuta--sp. Ht2--Shortenin Bread--Fluffernutter.
That is great because I don't have them so grow those leave lady....LOL
Susan
Sounds like a possible trade in the future!
Precious Sinn, Susan.
M3- your violets are so pretty. The pics have a very calming effect on me. Makes me not want to do anymore work. LOL
It's nice to see what Rob looks like. He's a great vendor.
Uh Oh!!! Jan, that is very exciting. Please show us when she opens.
Susan, I always wondered what Bewitched looked like. She is nice!
