February Blooms - V
She is a cute freckly thing! Adorable, love the color!
It is pretty! For once my camera caught the color fairly well! It's got one other bloom, and a half dozen buds . . .
Sunshine is nice........haven't seen her bloom.
Very Pretty, Nichole! Love that bloom, Sunshine is a great name for that one! When all those other buds open I hope you get a picture of the entire plant ... it should be gorgeous!
Very pretty Kohleria, I love the dots! Polka Dots or yellow in a bloom win my heart every time!
I was one among Many that helped Gary Mikita clean out his sinningia collection at the end of last summer. The ones that I've gotten to grow and bloom have given me some wonderful surprises! It has been fun.
This one was just called s. speciosia Charles Lawn Hybrid..... please correct me if I'm spelling speciosia wrong, I can hardly read the tag.
Some very light polka dots.
~Brenda
Those are wonderful Sinningia's, Brenda! Sinn. Flair is beautiful! That one called Amizade looks huge! I wish I had space to grow some of the large plants. I have a little micro mini S. pusilla and S. Rio das pedras and love them!
Hope you find time to show us more of your lovely plants later on today! Can't wait to see more!
Pretty kohleria Syrumani,I love pink!
Hi Brenda,K.Flirt did root for me but I haven't seen it bloom yet.I keep waiting. Pretty sinningias. The species strep is blooming again too. It's just to darn cute.I got my first seed pod too. ^_^

All of the blooms are great and plantladylin, that looks like one you will keep forever!!!
Lin and Bonnie,
I am so glad you two got to meet! It sounds like you had a lovely time. And so thoughtful of Bonnie to bring you such a pretty orchid. ^_^

Lynn

lol
JIM
all kidding aside, shes one of the nicest people ive ever met,
Bonnie is a sweetheart, and I hope they had as much fun today as I did ... I think we sat at the restaurant for probably 2 1/2 hours, eating pizza, talking and visiting! I am a talker and sometimes lose track of the time, so I hope I didn't wear out my welcome! ^_^
Bonnie: If you are lurking, I can't remember when you said you were heading back home to Illinois? It was sure great meeting you and your sister and friend today! Have a great time while vacationing here in Florida and safe travels home!
Lin,
Looks like you and Bonnie had a great time!.It;s very nice when you can meet the people you chat with. That's a very pretty orchid ^_^
It is so nice to see you two together having a good time!
Jan, I had a really nice time. It sure is fun to meet someone from DG who I've chatted with on the threads! I keep saying it would be wonderful if a bunch of us could get together somewhere, sometime for a few days of in person chat and plant shopping/trading, whatever! I know some areas of the country there are folks who get together at round-ups etc. but I don't know of any other DG'ers in my immediate area. I think there are lots of folks in Jacksonville and a lot in South Florida but none in my general area. Since I don't drive on the Interstate it would be hard for me to get to meet others from DG. I was so glad to hear Bonnie had family here and was coming to town!
I LOVE my new Orchid! Such a thoughtful person Miss Bonnie is! It is one of the prettiest Orchids I've ever seen, the camera just doesn't capture the true color! My DH doesn't usually notice a new plant in the mix but he noticed this one right away and thinks it is really pretty.
I sure enjoy logging into Dave's every morning and seeing the beautiful blooms ... a great way to start the day!
Remembering John is stunning! My grandfather's name was John and even though I don't remember him well, I think of him every time I see a photo of that beautiful strep!
LOL, great name "Ida wanna" ... made me think of a kid saying But, mama, I don't want to!" sorta with a southern accent!
I am envious of you wonderful get together with Bonnie Lin, it would be such a fun time getting together with DGer's as you've mentioned!!
GoldLeaf I have a baby Remembering John and I want to see those blooms in person someday! So pretty!
After well over a year I am finally getting the pay off of nurturing along my Sinningia Darth Vadar and it has been worth every minute of the wait!
I have my hand in the picture so you can get an idea of the sheer size of these gorgeous blooms.
~Brenda
Goldleaf, georgeous blooms. I have baby strep seedlings that I can't wait to grow up. It looks like I'm gonna have to get some more. They sure are pretty. I love the Remembering John. The epicia are pretty too, but I don't have luck with them. I had four, but I didn't realize the couldn't go below 50 degrees and lost three of them. One is still hanging on.
Lin, wish I could have joined you and Bonnie, but it was a 2 + hour drive for me on I-95, which I avoid like the plague. I see I missed a good time.
Brenda, your Dark Vador is a beauty. I am going to put that one on my want list too . ^_^
Awesome sinningia, Brenda. I can't catch up what I have missed being out of town, so will just pick up here.
Goldleaf, your streps are always the prettiest grown ones! Remembering John will always be a special one to grow.
Potting up babies and plants, so don't have time to post, but let me show one of my finds on my nursery hunting trip this week.
These are Jewel Orchids found in Seguin.
Eileen, wish you could have joined us too but I understand about that long drive from Palm Bay. I don't drive on the Interstate at all anymore, haven't in probably 20 years as it makes me a nervous wreck and I know I'd cause an accident! Bonnie's sister drove them from New Smyrna Beach up here to South Daytona for lunch so I just had to drive down the street to meet them! If we could ever arrange a larger DG get together somewhere in the country, I would have to fly and someone would have to pick me up at the airport!
Brenda, Oh my goodness, Darth Vader is Wonderful! Love the large blooms and really, really love that color!
Gail: Wow, love the Jewel orchids! I have one small one I've had for a long time and it is blooming but some worm or catepillar or something got to it when it was hanging in the tree last month ... it doesn't look so hot right now and I'm going to repot it soon in hopes of saving the poor thing. Ok ... fess up now, what other beauties did you get from that great nursery in Seguin? I guess it's a good thing that we don't have any good nurseries nearby or I would be broke for sure!
I will find time to post later, Lin, but I am broke!!! (LOL)
Even found 11 streps in Boerne (I need streps.....like I need a hole in my head).
So glad you got together with Bonnie............cute picture of you all!
My adult kids aren't going to let me out of the house anymore if I don't start doing better. All my cash for the trip was in a bank envelope which I promptly left at the restaurant after the first stop on our leg of shopping. You won't believe this but when I came back 7 hours later, the sweet waitress who had waited on our table came up behind me and whispered, "Would you like your money"?.
Couldn't pass up this fuschia because she was only 9.00 but I intend to over summer her in the air conditioned house........
