I was just wondering what kind of spider this one is. I haven't one like it around here before.

I;ve never seen one exactly like this either, but based on its small size (assuming that those are human fingers in the background), I would guess that it might be in the family Linyphiidae - sheetweb and dwarf spiders; see http://tinyurl.com/dz4en4 for some examples. These images are a very small sampling of a large and diverse family.
