Hope you have a wonderful day.
Happy Birthday, ZuZu!!
Stopping by to wish you a great Birthday today. I hope it's not raining to hard up there today.
Happy Birthday.
Donna
Thank you, everyone, for the nice wishes. Donna, it's pouring up here and it's dreadfully windy. I guess we can only be happy about it, right? Every inch of rain defers that notorious drought a little bit longer.
I won't grumble about the rain, or espouse my feelings on the 'drought';;;
I'm just here to say it's Zuzu's birthday
And I hope someone takes her out.............
LOL...I mean takes you out to dinner or somewhere good, not a Mafia 'hit'.........
Sherry
thanks for clarifying that Sherry ! LOL
lol Sherry
Hey, Sherry's magic wish got me taken out twice, but in the nice way. I had thought the nursery jaunt was off because of the rain, but the woman I was going with is from Guernsey, and as she pointed out: "If we Brits stayed in when it rained, we'd never leave the house at all." So we hit four nurseries and topped the trip off with a hot fudge sundae at Screaming Mimi's.
As soon as I got home, some other friends arrived to take me out for a surprise sushi dinner. So now I'm home after spending a day full of good friends, good nurseries, and good food. Ah, life is good...
What a great birthday. Glad you had such a nice day, Zuzu!
What a great day! Shouldn't those kinda things happen every day?! Let's work on that.....
Happy Birthday, Zuzu! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Of course, anytime you get together with friends and go to the nursery is good. To be taken out to dinner makes it even better!!! Best wishes to you...
Willie
Happy Happy birthday! Sorry to be late but hope it was good.
Thank you. It was so good, and it's still going on. Today I got taken to Cottage Gardens in Petaluma and Passanisi Nursery in Penngrove for my birthday. The rain was coming down in buckets and we were the only customers. It was great. No competition for the best plants.
See....there you go....Happy Birthweek. With not too much effort, you can stretch it to Happy Birthmonth....oh, well why don't we just party all year? What plants are you treating yourself to, Zuzu?
So far this week, lots of clematis, primulas, roses (of course), hostas, and a few succulents. I had hoped to get to Annie's this week, but the freeway is so horrible in the rain. It'll have to wait. Putting it off is a good start on partying all year, I guess.
...not that Zuzu ever needs a bonified reason to party !!!
I am sooo glad I don't live near Annie's. Lots of my wish list items are available now and I just have to ignore the emails. :-(
I wish I hadn't looked at the current availability list before the trip got rained out. I feel almost as if the plants were stolen from me.
The good news is with the weather the way it was, probably nobody else was at Annie's this weekend either so your plants will still be there waiting for you!
Thank you, Ecrane. That's certainly the way I should be looking at it. Are you available for therapy? Just lightning shots of therapy. I'd tell you my stupid thoughts and you'd turn them into statements of hope. What a treasure that would be.
I specialize in Plant Shopping Therapy! LOL Buying more plants is the solution to all of life's problems.
My kind of therapist. Not that I need that variety. One of my neighbors and I go out every weekend and spend money wildly and foolishly at local nurseries, shops, and restaurants. We feel secure in our jobs so we feel obliged to keep everyone else employed. It's a wonderful thing to indulge your obsessions and actually feel virtuous about it.
That's how I feel about it too! Every time I start to feel like maybe I shouldn't have spent so much, I think about all the local merchants that I'm helping keep in business and it makes me feel better--at least I'm spending for a good cause!
That's right. We're not irresponsible conspicuous consumers. We're economy boosters.
Wish I could do some boosting right now. LOL
I shouldn't be doing as much economy boosting as I am...I'm trying to cut back but I know when spring comes and I make the rounds of the local nurseries it's going to be tough to resist!
Missed it ZuZu. Sounds as if you've had a very good time. Happy belated Birthday!
Hi, Doss. Thank you. There are still good times to come. The rain washed out some of the plans people had for my birthday, so I still have two nursery crawls in the works.
Stretched out your birthday and gave us some of that rain we need to grow our plants this summer!
Zuzu, Happy belated Birthday. You sure know how to celebrate. I've been contemplating a couple trips to my favorite nurseries and a trip up to annies too. I share your anticipation. February is a great month for birthdays, full of renewal, with the next growing season just beginning. I have to wait just a little longer to make the trip as I just gave birth to my second son on feb fourth! Here's to spring!
Congratulations, Wonderearth. What a joy! Well worth the delay in shopping.
Congratulations, Wonderearth! Great start to the growing season.
