Google translater , you give the link to translate and you choose the languages : from.... to

Martin, lol there. Isn't that a lot of fun. lol. What worked for me was to cut and paste parts of what I was looking at, into the google translater, and then I couldn't beleive my eyes sometimes. Sometimes you translate those little groups of boxes, and they are just instructions or names of stuff. You might want to give Babylon a try, they have a 2 week demo download, and it is good. Frank

I have had good luck with this web-based translator:

http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftool.nifty.com%2Fglobalgate%2F&sl=ja&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

I like the output where the translation lies directly beneath the original word or phrase.

My two week trial of Babylon (translator) is nearly up, so I gave them an email asking what the price is and can I get it by mail. I like a hard copy. Somebody in India called me in 5 minutes. $116 plus $15 for the hard copy. Frank

Is it worth the price of admission, Frank?

I don't think so, not for myself. If I were trying to translate Botanical articles in Portugese, Spanish, or Hindi, for sharing in English, Maybe. In the back of my mind are the unfinished works on the Family Convolvulaceae, in other languages;
by Botanists, that didn't get it finished before their deaths. There are a few of those in Brazil and Argentina, at their universities, in their respective languages.

Since these all have to be submitted in Latin, to the International Botanical Congress for proofing, and approval, we might only have to translate from Latin if we could get our hands on manuscripts. Who knows what they have on hand for the Family Convolvulaceae. I am sure they are up to their necks in manusscripts and transcripts, etc. Frank

babylon has the reputation of being impossible to remove from your pc... it acts like malware (but apparently it's not)... it can be removed (extremely carefully) by using 'hijack this' which is available as a free download... google [babylon removal] first for a better explaination...
