Super Bowl Babble

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Didn't both groups share Stevie Van Zandt?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

That could very well be Dave. There was a lot of sharing of musicians back at that time in that geographic area. I'm sure it still goes on today when you have music hubs. My niece is in a band that just released their first CD. They trade off musicians often, if only for one song or one set(live shows). Just one facet of the industry I guess.

Allison, I get your take on the Bruce voice. I always loved his music, but wished he had a better voice.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have to admit... back in the 80's I am sure there were plenty of moments with me jumping around my bedroom with a bruce song cranked.... and who couldn't help them selves but dance to rosaletta ... I like it when my friends band does bruce covers... that guy sings way better

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I like Bruce's band but here's another Jersey girl that can't stand Bruce. Now Bon Jovi is another story.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I agree - Bruce can't sing to save his life. What's even worse - and more traumatic for me - is that he sounds just like my brother when he sang in the shower! (My brother, that is.)

Great game! Best ever. And that's saying something after last tear.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I was gonna say... you've heard Bruce in the shower?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Maybe Little Stevie has?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

lol

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I will stand by my man! He also gave the best live performances of any musician or band I have ever seen. You could always count on a four hour show with encores. Of course, that would be torture for you non Bruce people :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My brother took longer showers.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Was the "last tear" a result of the final touchdow catch?

I'm with Venu. I've seen a lot of concerts and Springsteen was the best.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Tes.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Thank You Dave, I feel vindicated.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

You haven't lost it!

I'm in Uconn Heaven these days. The women are beating rival Rutgers as we speak. (Men & Women are #1)

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Venu, you haven't lost it either

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks. Yes - UConn is hot - again. Went to my first hockey game the other day, believe it or not. Army at West Point. Was lots of fun. Army stinks though. Hope they're better at warfare, though I'd prefer they not have to prove it.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

A lot of college sports are still pure. It's refreshing.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

True. Lots of enthusiasm. Minor league baseball is also fun.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does Bruce put on a better show than David Cassidy?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Or Shaun Cassidy? hee hee remember him?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

What I love about the Uconn Women is they maintain all the good stuff even at the top of the game in a real revenue generating game.
The men are more of a guilty pleasure.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Wow I'm slow!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You're getting too personal, Dave.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Knew that was coming

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Jen & Victor, before my time. Cassidy who?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee. My sister actually loved Shaun Cassidy. And we never let her forget it.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Were one of them the Partridge Family?
Before my time.
Ok, not really, I just wan't into it. I'm pretty old, but I don't know it.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Bruce and David Cassidy in the same sentence. Scuse me while I erp. ♪♪ Goin to a Mariners Game in August ♪♪ Going to a MLB game in August ♪♪ ^_^

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Go Dahlia!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

sssshhhhh don't tell anyone... but one of my first concerts was Shaun Cassidy

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

No kiddin Dave! I'm pumped! Onewish I truly believe that in the end we will all be truly forgiven for the follys of our youth. I need to believe this because I was very follyful.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

one can only hope

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Youthful mistakes are understandable. But going ga-ga as an adult for someone who sounds like my brother...

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I never understood the girls fainting and swooning at these guys though(ie the Beatles). I might have done some screaming in my day...I was really into Menudo.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL... Menudo... sorry Jen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wasn't Ricky Martin in Menudo??

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I think so

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yes he was and...funny story... I actually sat next to him when he was like 12 in a restaurant of the hotel they were staying at....my friend was dating one of their cousins. I really liked Charlie and wanted to sit next to him but I got stuck sitting next to the new kid(Ricky) and had my back toward him the whole time...little did I know he'd become the successful one and a hottie to boot!!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Jen, Did you just say you don't understand how girls could get all screamy over the Beatles, but that you did over Menudo??

That is a lot like saying I don't understand how people get carried away with a Rolls Royce but I get carried away with my Scion! ;^)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I don't understand the fainting/swooning part. Screaming yes.

A scion really?
