wow going to have to get my NJ 80's hair out..... Journey is playing the pre-game show.... WOO HOO
I will be watching the puppy bowl during half time.... can't stand Bruce
Super Bowl Babble
Jersey girls!!.....Love Bruce, can't stand Journey.
Gonna root for Kurt, but I think Big Ben will take the ring home.
too funny ....we are opposite
80's hair. I used to work in a store where one girl poofed her hair up so much in front and around her face that we called her Daisy. If gale force winds had hit her, the hair would still be standing ;)
oh I believe I have a few photos of myself like that
:)
Sometimes looking back at our past fashions is just like receiving our plant orders that we ordered during the winter........
WHAT WAS I THINKING???!!
I thought it was a law that Jersey girls had to love Bruce.
Anyone get the 3D glasses for the Monsters vs Aliens promo?
My heart leans Steelers. (My nine year old wondered why they named a team after people who commit a crime)
It might be a law for Jersey girls of a certain age, but let's not go there ;)
Leave it to the kids, I had to read that twice til I read it as SteAlers!!
Funny Dave! DH is from PA, so we're rooting for the Steelers.
I am not a football fan.
HOW DARE i?
Just popped in to see what everyone will be eating duering the game?
Isnt that the purpose?
AND to say hi to Debilu.
We've made it an annual treat to go someplace very special for dinner on Super Bowl Sunday. We get the very best of service and there are no problems with reservations at 6 PM.
Good luck to both teams.
At least they have posted the kickoff time , so can tune in then & skip all the hipe. Celtics at noon, whew. this is tough on DH who is not a sports fan, he will watch the tennis.
That's a good idea Pirl! Where are you going tonite?
Either the Jamesport Manor http://www.jamesportmanor.com/
or another one in Jamesport. We enjoy both of them.
I will take the pork .... Pirl... looks nice
just made some homemade buttermilk pancakes... (we start early).... and I am making porterhouse steaks, baked - mashed potatoes, and a chocolate cream pie for later!!!!
sorry to break the news to you Dave... not all jersey girls love bruce... but i do like south side johnny and bon jovi!
Do you create a big hair look when you listen to Bon Jovi?
I like Bruces old stuff.4th of July in Asburry Park, Born to Run ,that era.
Pirl that resturant looks wonderful.
Why dont their gardens look better?
ge - I'll take a closer look tonight but might have to make several trips from spring through fall to evaluate the gardens. Sounds like a good reason to me.
Dave the bigger hair might be automatic when Bon Jovi is playing
:)
He is Oprahs latest darling.
I always have big hair. It just does its own big thing. I will be twirling dahlia stakes during the game. I like to twirl along with the cheerleaders. It helps me practise for the 'Wakening of the Dahlias Festival' which is in 26 more sleeps ^_^
Don't really care who wins. Lean towards the Steelers slightly. Like Bruce and Journey and will watch half-time and flip in to check on the game from time to time. Hate all the endless hype before they actually get down to playing. Never had big anything. :)
What a great idea, Arlene. Not big football fans here. Mom will have golf on later.
Pat, I don't think the game would be half the fun without all the (stupid) hype beforehand. Of course, if the Patriots were in it again, I'd be watching every minute of the hype! I think I'd like to see the Cardinals win - I'm not a Roethlisberger fan.
Oooooo - Dnut, will we be the lucky recipients of photos of your dahlia-stake twirling preparation for the WDF?
Please post - it will make February disappear quicker.
Pirl - the menu sounds so delicious; I'm hungry now for dinner, and I haven't had breakfast yet...
Hold that thought Katye. I have been overcome by seeding frenzy. One of my amerias has germinated and I take that as an omen that more seeding must be done.
Oh ya Sue if the Pats were in it again that's a whole other deal, its not hype then, just entertainment and total intense fan mania. HA! :) Trouble with this one is I am not really a fan of either team and have no real malice towards either one either, so its really not that big a deal who wins or who loses. For the game to have any real interest you need to be a fan or at least hate one team so you can root against one of them when all else fails. This year I have no feeling one way or the other, so mostly have a lack of interest.
D-nut I think your twirling would make for a wonderful diversion as well.
This sounds more like: I don't like superbowl babble
heh I just noticed there's no seeding thread yet. I was going to post an update on my frenzy while I'm taking a break. O well I will post on the Coffee Thread when I'm finished.
Dave (when you get back to this after the game!), I think this thread is just an excuse to talk, period! LOL!
good 1st half
♪♪ Babbby I waaaaas borrrrrrrn to runnnnnnnn ♪♪ and sing and twirl.
Bruce was also good!
Deb - that's why I'm on the computer! DH doesn't like Bruce and kept flipping the channels - I'm pissed! (Am I allowed to say that on DG?)
Works for me when it comes to Bruce ^_^
Sue, I wasn't complaining.
Great game!
Edge of your seat game!
I can say even though it wasn't the Giants playing... I really enjoyed the game
This was a very exciting game. I listened to the first half on the ride home from work. I wanted Kurt to win but it was not to be. But last year and this year were great superbowls. Really fun to watch(and or listen) and nailbiters.
Allison, how could you love southside but hate bruce? Southside's keyboardist stole my brother's girlfriend. It was a very bad thing at that time. But, now he's with his high school sweetheart and I have 2 fab nephews. Life works out, we just have to learn to wait for the next chapter!
wow see sometimes it does happens for a reason... I like South Side better because he has a nice voice... when born in the USA came out... I was young and did like it... as I grew older I realized I hated Bruce's voice.... I learned to sing and realized he couldn't
;)
I was in grammar school might have only been 10.... and my sister and her friend took me to see South Side on New Years eve.. before they knocked the Capital Theater down in Passaic, NJ... a great memory for sure
