Unlisted Planthopper Family

North Burnett, Queen, Australia

I wish to add the White Marked Planthopper, Platybrachys leucostigma, one of the Eurybrachyid Planthoppers - Family Eurybrachyidae but it appears this family is not in the database yet. Can you please add this. I was thinking whether it would be possible for the "add a new bug" page to have drop down boxes for order and family, save having to try various spellings, there are at least three common spellings for Eurybrachyidae

Thanks aussietrev, it is good to get another family represented in BugFiles and it is great to see you adding all these Queensland Bugs to the database.

I have added the new family by creating an entry for your White Marked Planthopper here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/5532/

Let me know when you have added your images and I will select one to illustrate the family in the index.

I like your suggestion for drop down boxes for Order and Family and will pass it on to Dave, but don't expect any rapid change. Dave stays very busy and I have been waiting a year or more for the provision for storing synonyms in BugFiles.

Hi Kennedy,

I have uploaded the image of the hopper. They are extremely hard to spot camouflaged on a tree so this shot is the only one I got before it clicked away from my flyscreen door.

Thanks Trevor, a great photo and it is now illustrating the Eurybrachyidae in the index : http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/browse/order.php?bid=108
