I am new to planting and have planted the following in seperate seed trays (Burpee):
Petunia's
Imaptiens
I have them on a heat mat with flourescent lights. About 3/4 of the Impatiens came up and I took the plastic cover off. I am bottom watering and they seem to be doing OK.
However, now the soil is turning green. Is this bad? What should I do? I'm hoping the little plants won't die.
Thanks for any advice!
Soil Turning Green from seed germination
Sounds like the algae problem...too wet and compressed soil. I had the happen last year with one tray of petunias. Let them dry out a bit and you could scrape the green stuff off, but once you transplant them, it will disappear
Yeah, I get it too - but once I repot the seedlings in larger pots it does go away, like j.nanner sez.... >smile<
Me, I just ignore it.
Thanks, I'm glad it isn't anything to worry about. Appreciate the advice.
Gladly!
