Happy Birthday Shoe

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Well, Shoe....bored I wasn't, but sure did have a lot of fun thoughts.

And yep, I plan to be better prepared for the next one, of course this is the first one ever in my history of livin' in KY which has been all my life, so I guess I might not be around for the next one if patterns mean anything.

And the moon was really pretty.

I sure understand that, this was history in the making for ya'll. Hopefully it won't be a repeat happening. It sure makes us realize how nice we have it made though, doesn't it? Flick a switch and we have lights, heat, music, TV to watch for entertainment. Those things used to be 'strike a match' for lights and heat, pick up an instrument and play it for music, etc.

I like some of each of those worlds! Works for me!

So on that note, will go put a log in the wood stove and go watch a movie on tv or read some more of a book laying nearby!

Have a great Saturday, complete with sunshine and electricity!

Sharran -so glad to see you up and running!! Been wondering. Glad you had the firelight. That's what we heated and cooked with...but I have to admit we all did a happy electricity dance when it came back on Wednesday night!!

Oh God Shoe, Just now seen this, Sorry I'm so late!!! ( slipping bad!)
I see besides song and foot stomping dance you got people to join in on the crowing and flappin!! LOL!!!!!!!!
Always a surroundig activity surrounding you! :)

Howdy, Iris! Long time, no see. Thanks for the greeting!

I'm guessing by now you are settled in to your new 'Southern" home and enjoying it! Give me a holler sometime when you need something to stick in those empty landscaping areas!

Hope ya'll are doing great! Wishing you and yours the best this coming year!

Best!

Happy birthday Shoe.

You must be getting to be pretty old like the rest of us. There seems to be a Happy B-Day thread every month for you. Just kidding.(laughing)

Every month! Hah! Well...I've celebrated my 50th twice on DG (but we won't go into that for fear of old age settin' in sooner)!

Thanks for the b-day greeting.

Shoe
(Now if I can figger out how to mark birthday threads "closed" I'll start reverting back to my younger life much sooner. If only I could play the violin like Jack Benny I'd retain my youth, right!?)

Clarkson, KY

I'm hanging around for a Happy Birthday Shoe 2 thread!!

(Zone 7a)

Grownut - what a great idea - a Happy Birthday Shoe Thread 2! Now, lemmesee, who, out of the oodles of DG members, haven't I dmailed about this thread yet...???

Shoe - I'm kidding - couldn't resist...but...oh dear...I don't think Jack Benny could play his violin half as well as you play your shoes

Clarkson, KY

I wanna hear Shoe play his shoes....

(Zone 7a)

The sounds Bennie's and Shoe's instruments elicit - to me - are folks smiling and enjoying themselves - that kind of laughter...so, to me, an absent shoe registers as well on the smile monitor as the present violin

I think I better quit while I'm ahead - happy winter dreams, everyone

Clarkson, KY

dreaming of Shoe'sshoes....shhuuuzzzzzzzzz....
