Howdy Folks! Just now came across this thread.
Big Time Thanks to all of you for your well-wishes!
I'm encouraging ya'll to help me celebrate today! This means you get to have an extra piece of chocolate, glass of wine or the like, or doing something super fun today. Or pig out on whatever you like! Or pull a prank on someone! Or flap your arms and crow like a rooster, preferably when the neighbors can witness it!
In other words, hope you all have a great day! The DG Family is the best!
Thanks again!

Belated Happy Birthday, Shoe - will a wolf howl do? The "Y'all ain't right" look was priceless
Ooh, another birthday thread...I missed this one! Happy birthweek, Shoe!
"Happy birthweek..."! Hehehe, sure seems that way! Sounds like a 'new tradition' that everyone should try, eh?
bluespiral, GW, ya'll sure are up early greeting the day, especially for such nightowls. And yes, blue, howling like a wolf is perfect! (I can even get my dog, Hazel, to sing along w/me sometimes!)
Happy (Birth) Day to All!
Shoe
Good morning, Shoe! I've never had the pleasure of meeting you, but hope one day to do so.
Here's wishing you a very happy birthday, and many more!!!
Jody
Happy Birthday!
WOOOOOWOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I am jumping on one foot (barefoot of course) and singing to the moon.
Happy Happy belated, Shoe and may you have so many more that you become a burden (make that a joy) to your family.
Could I now get onto two feet? I can walk better that way.
Hugs,
Lani
Hehehe, howdy Pondy! I thought I felt the Earth thumping from over your way, all that jumping up and down woke me up! (Now as for that 'burden on family'...already there!) :>)
Thanks for the well wishes Roybird (interesting name), Taynors, and Jody (I once hitch-hiked to "Mad City", Wi years ago; if I ever do it again I promise we'll meet!).
Okay, Pondy, you can get back on two feet now. Go feed them fishies for me, just in case I ever camp out near the ponds I'll have some good eats!
Best to All!
Shoe
Wow, what a beautiful sight! And what a large pea pod, too! Those look yummy!
Thanks! Now pass the peas please!
Shoe
Those peas are huge! I've never grown peas. I get them from the farmer's market, though.
That's variety Mr Big. and the hands they're in for scale belong to a ten yr old boy
^_^
You just made it, Lena! I guess it is now safe to say my "birthWEEK" celebration is now officially over! 'Tis now 15minutes after the 7th day, Ta-dah ♫
Beautiful basket of maters ya got there, especially during Winter, or I should say OUR Winter! Thanks for sharing, looking good! (Think I'll let you enjoy them all but if I ever get over your way I'll try to make it during your tomato season!)
Thanks again, All.
Happy Gardening in all the Gardens of Life!
Shoe
Oh no! I missed it!
Well happy belated birthWeek anyway Shoe!
I dragged out an old LP of the Chico Bavarian Band playing the Chicken Dance song just for you. Great way to clear a room.
^_^
Howdy, and thanks, Nap...it was an acceptable week, and treasured because it was easy-going and I took plenty of time to putter. Ahhh, ain't nuttin' better'n a Happy Birthweek Putterin'! I hope each of ya'll do the same!
Mermaid! Oh the memories of Oom-pah-pahhing to the 3/4 beat of the Chicken Dance! Why, it reminds me of *Claudette The First, the only hen I knew who could properly get the footsteps and the tail feather wagging down to the perfect art that it is! (Some folks believe it was 'cause of her weak knees; others state it was 'cause of her size which easily commanded the required elbow room.)
When Claudette danced all the older hens would watch in awe, the pullets would realize they didn't know as much as they thought they did, and the roosters all crowed in unison as if each of them claimed her as his own. It was a purty sight to witness such camaraderie-in-action down at the Chicken Coop!
And now, as I sit here, moving into the next year of Life on Earth, the Pixies that reside in the Wayback Section of my Memory Library bring to the front desk the wondrous memories of previous episodes of Life, for some reason jogged by the tune of the Chicken Dance!
(I ain't right, am I!?) τΏτ

*Claudette The First : Born in the mid-80's at MoonDance Farm, NC, known to have been of pleasant disposition from Day One, especially well-liked by all, and a believer in "a job well done". During her life she attained not only a mature weight of 65 pounds but has gone down in the history books as being the only hen who could lay 12 eggs at a time. This was further enhanced by the successful training of being able to straddle an egg carton and, due to weak knees which created a slight side-to-side wobble, walk from one end to the other, depositing 12 eggs in the carton receptacles, always with the pointy ends downward. Horseshoe Griffin, friend and confidante, says, "She always had that special gleam in her eye, a wonderful smile on her beak, and when work was done, man, could she dance!"
Hope you had a great day ,
sorry i am late
new PC and i am old ,we are not compatible ^_^
best wishes for a very happy healthy year
God bless
Tazzy - you can't be THAT old if you can make us laugh - we live in such discordant times; there's better things to hope we can be compatible with than a #!** machine. Look how compatible you are with Iris :))
Of course, there's something more zen about an iris than a machine...I don't believe any iris ever made me rattle my chops the way this pc seems to
Howdy, Tazzy. Thanks fir the b-day wishes and thoughts!
And bluespiral is right! As long as you can laugh, and make others laugh, it'll keep ya "youthful"!
Shoe
Grats Shoe,
I can never thank you for all you have taught me.
Jeff
Just as soon as i conquered XP they hit my poor old mind with Vista
witch is like learning all over again
i know it good to broaden your horizons but they can take vista and stick in their ear, because i fear it's not going to be a dear .
It is great for surfing and chat but for my photos the loss of my xp gear is a pain in the rear.
another mountain to climb hope i have the time
love you all tazzy
Don't do it!
I bought a laptop that came with Vista and promptly upgraded it to XP. Windows 7 is not much better than Vista. They can take XP from my cold dead fingers. :)

Well, darn Shoe....missed this one.....
But I danced in my boots to the light of the moon over ice and broken tree limbs, teeth chattering, and toes sufferin'....
Does that count??
And thought of you whilst readin' by the light of the fire for 9 nights and 37 minutes. Does that count?
And cracked the ice in the pan for the outdoor cat as she lay in the depths of the basket of old flannel shirts in the dark recesses of the cold garage
And all those times I thought of you, Shoe....so I hope that counts!
Happy last week to you, and many more.
Hehehe, I'd say ya done real good, Sharran! Dancin' by the light of the moon, readin' by the light of the fire. What an experience, eh?
Glad you made it back into the modern world. Course now, you can still dance by moonlight and still read by firelight, too. (Maybe you should dig up a nice kerosene lamp for future reading when there is no electricity.)
Now as for all that thinking about me, mercy!...you must've been totally bored to tears!
