Hi everyone
I live in Sydney, Australia and am desperately trying to find out what creature lives here.
I don't have any pictures of the actual insect itself, but a picture of its nest/home. It is sitting in the corner of the top of a doorframe on the outside of our front door. It's very hard to get a good picture of it but it's rather like dried raspberry jam/jelly to look at and is like a small tunnel with a hole at the end which I assume is for the insect/s to get in and out of.
Any help as to what it is and what to do to get rid of it would be great.
Many thanks

Hi,
is it really like jelly or jam when you touch it or does it just look like it?
If it is really hard when you touch it, it could be of a wasp like subfamily Eumeninae f.e.
Regards
Klaas
