My boyfriend and I were walking thru some woods at Mohican in Loudonville ,Ohio when he spotted this critter,so I grabbed him up and got some pics!Anyone know what he(or she)is?
CLOSED: Caterpillar?
Lovely shot! Hope you get an ID..
I believe that this most likely is the hind end of a mature larva of the Imperial moth (Eacles imperialis) - see http://tinyurl.com/bqo8yz for a similar image of a greenish individual and http://tinyurl.com/d3b8qr for a complete specimen. These caterpillars (as do some other species) may change color as the approach the time for pupation.
Definitely and Imperial Moth larva.
