b&d catalog

Lindenhurst, NY

Hi, anyone get their b&d catalog? What fun looking through this.

Anyone ever order their purple poppy seeds? I see them every year and decided to buy them now but they are sold out. does anyone have any to share or trade for daylily seeds
thanks

Nice to see you around maureen. I may have some of those seeds in the fall, but I think I planted all that I had out last fall. They work great just tossing them in the area I want to see them, during the first snowfall. It seems to secure their place a bit, they bloom beautifully early summer here in zone 5. I just save the seeds each year.

got mine yesterday will look at it tonight after work

I think that I have some of the purple poppy seed left. Will have to look in my seed stash.
I don't raise daylilies, so would appreciate any thing else, but not necessary for trade.

hi magnolialover - how are you? thanks for the info on how you sow yours. sounds really easy!

has anyone seen BONBINI? It is beautiful, on page 4/5 of the catalog.

While i'm here, i have a question for the more experienced lily growers. I've noticed that my lilys have not multiplied since i've had them for 3-4 years. I have mostly orientals and some orienpets. I thought they would multiply and make new bulbs?

Maxine, that would be excellent if you had some to share. I'll dmail you.

Maureen - my Orientals have not multiplied and they've been here many years. There was an offer for the sale of lilies back in December on Classified Ads and that's where I ordered Bonbini. The ad may still be there - it was from Faraway Flowers.

Or you can go directly to the site ~ http://farawayflowers.vstore.ca/

For me, orientals do multiply but not at a rate that you'd notice. I'll see young stems come up and by the time they're bloom size, another bulb will die off so the numbers stay about the same. OTs are slow to increase for me too.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Some OTs increase well for me, others do not. Perhaps it's the dominant trait they carry that makes the difference; I don't know. Orientals do not multiple really fast for me at all, maybe over a few years I will see some small amount of growth.
