Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I gave up, buddy. I'll go out and cut the dang things when they bloom, hee hee!

I'll try your methods next year, though. What about a magnolia tree branch? Can you force that?

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Thank you for the info about how to propagate the Viburnum. I will try them soon.

Donna

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Donna, you are so welcome. I will put a link to propagating the woodies in here as soon as I start some.. It will be awhile.. right now, just messing with forced bloomers! I need to gather materials for that!

Indy_v, don't know anything on magnolias, but if you get some started let me know as I always wanted a couple!

The other things that I don't think will show up in the photos yet are cuttings of silver lace vine, blue willow shrub, and that stupid pink flowered bush that I keep forgetting the name of. The spring flowers are sweet smelling...dang it...it's on the tip of my tongue.

As usual, my mind is gone.

Oh well, I'm really excited to see the buds on these little guys LOL!

His wife was Terry, they got a daughter.. Bindy, but Lordy if I can remember that mans name right now.. The man always wore shorts....was curator of the Austraillian zoo.. gads the things I can remember.. but not his name! I can hear his voice saying, by crocky! or another sayign of his was aww the little blighter.. or your a naughty....

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi Blossom,

His name is Steve Irwin - not that I remembered, but my daughter was summing up our trip to the east coast in 2006 in an email recently to my brother, and she mentioned that we found out that he died from that stingray bite while we were having dinner in Atlantic City.

Plant - sorry I am not able to help you on that stupid pink flower. My daphne is blooming though. It smells wonderful

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Blossom - guess I was too slow in typing. LoL

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

HONEYSUCKLE!!! Geeze, that almost hurt! LOL!

I went to the PlantFiles and put in all the characteristics...and honeysuckle was first on the list that came back. Don't you love DG?

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Well I am sorry I was off on such a tangent thats what happens when you catch me in old geezer mode!! LOL! Just she happened to catch me and the hubby here in a off line conversation about trying to remember the name of that nice feller and and well we got off and my fingers just ran my moth here! And well that "stupid pink flower" just dun and did it!! LOL!

Last weekend, in a moment of desperation for something spring, I cut three small branches off the purple lilac that's growing outside my kitchen window. The stems have in water in a vase on the windowsill, and all the buds are plumping up.

This morning I see chubby green buds, and just a hint of purple.

Spring, on MY terms, lol

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

DB...Pictures please!! LOL!! My lilac has leafed but still no buds.

here's my lilacs in a vase. They're starting to leaf out and have flower buds.

I've been dropping a few sugar crystals into the water when I change it.

It will be interesting to see how much these actually bloom.
