You know it's cold when....

Sher, that is the most adorable picture. I had to show hubby. I guess that is why we keep small dogs. We have a king bed and our two little ones fit pretty good at the foot of the bed. I don't know where you fit in that bed. That is the biggest dog I've ever seen. :)

Dori, happy birthday to your son and enjoy that new grandbaby.

Everyone stay warm. It's a cold one out there. The sun is shining though.

It was seven below zero actual temperature when I woke up this morning. Man, it is cold. At night I can on occasion hear something "popping" either in the attic or up on the roof. I have no idea what that could be. The sun is out today though so hopefully that will help heat the house up some. I'll be so glad when we get back up into the 30's and 40's again. It will be a regular heat wave.

Hope everyone is doing well and not getting cabin fever.

Stay warm,

Every year, I have had problems with my heart starting in late october and november, all three of my heart attacks have occured in November and December. Now even with the ICD, I still feel lousy during this time, them by late February I start feeling better. For years we have tried to figure this out. This year I started taking a clacium with Vitamin D for annother reason in December and noticed that I felt better. It's the vitamin D!

I come in out of the garden in late October and spent the next two months in my studio. In January it's too cold and cloudy to get any sun.I posed this theory to my doctor and he showed me some new studies where they have just started to realise the importance of D in heart health and over all energy levels.

Hmmm, something to think about! This has been the darkest winter I ever remember. It's worth a try for the D suppliments. It's already in most calcium tabs and God knows, we all need that.

AuGres, MI(Zone 5b)

I agree. I take vitamin D along with a lot of other supplements. They have really helped with the arthrtis in my knees and I feel better all over.

It has been snowing here too. Not a lot but I'll take the snow over the ice storm a lot of the country is having. I sure don't want my trees breaking in two from the weight of ice on them. We're missing the sunshine here today. Maybe it will come out from the clouds later on.

Little by little we're warming up some and the days are getting longer. Spring will be here soon. January is almost over. Yea!!

The sun is changing! I noticed the rainbows were back from the crystals I hang in my window. I can't wiat till they are dancing across my kitchen again!

AuGres, MI(Zone 5b)

It's been snowing all morning here in AuGres. Better snow than ice I guess. It's pretty as long as you don't have to get out and drive in it. At least it's warming up a tad bit. That should help with the heat bills.

Stay warm everyone.

jylgaskin
What an adorable picture!
You look so cozy. :)
I also love the one of Brenda's Mom....and of course all the doggie pics.
Here's our grandson Liam under his blanket and our 11 month old Decker Terrier Shelby for added warmth.

jylgaskin...I think you are right about the Vit. D!
I started taking it last year and previously I caught every cold and flu bug I was exposed to but this last year and this year nothing! I've been going to the tanner once a week for 10 minutes too.
Makes me feel so much better.
(Knock on wood)

Well, January is gone BYE BYE and we're into a new month. See, winter is going by fast isn't it? Tomorrow is ground hog day I think. I wonder what the little guy will predict. I'm hoping for an early Spring!! I'm ready.

The sun is shining here and it's not so terribly cold. I think it is about 36 degrees outside right now. Woo hoo......a regular heat wave. What WILL we do when we hit 40? Break out the shorts and sandles?

Is anyone watching the Super Bowl tonight? My husband loves football. I don't but I'm going to be a good sport and watch it with him. I picked the Cardinals and he's with the Steelers. :) I'm always for the underdog.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
