Still can't see the 6th, but I believe you Willow.
Thistle ~ I enjoy Big Fish stuff as well, but don't play anywhere near as much as I used to. Which is probably a good thing... = S
2009 Furry Friends: pictures, stories and anecdotes
I saw a six, but to late to add my 2cents.
I am feeding the doe and twins apples. I know I shouldn't and I will stop soon. I can get within 3' of them and they are not a bit afraid of me. I wish you could see the face on the little doe. She is so cute. Her brother tried to kick her when she went after a bit of apple near him. She got it though.
Awwwwwwww - I know how hard it must be.
Patricia - how beautiful!! I hope Murmur gets to see this; she loves the deer, too. They look healthy, without that mange that covers so many these days.
Isn't it crazy that anybody could ever think of them as dangerous or pests or anything like that. I just plain think they're lovely. And you got some fantastic pictures . . .
Willow...AWESOME! I can imagine the groundskeepers at the golf course aren't too thrilled with them but so what. They are beautiful beings. You are very lucky to have them around. I haven't seen our girl yet this year. Last year she was here with her yearling from 2006 and two babies from 2007. Don't know if she'll show this year and if so, who she'll bring with her. Our "deer alarms" (my furboys) keep her from coming directly into the yard, but hopefully she'll at least show in the area this year.
Sheri - for what it's worth, I think my deer have discovered that the dogs are limited to the fenced area and it makes them a little braver. Maybe yours will get to that point.
I hope so, Kathy. Hey...how was your trip to the nurseries today? Wish I lived closer to the ferry. I'd sure like to take part, but dang...it's a long haul!
Saw your triathlon group. Cool!!
The three of us met for coffee and talked most of the morning. Then we went to Wells Medina. There aren't a lot of perennials out, but we wandered through the budding shrubs and trees and planned and talked. The weather was awesome for the visit. We did see one orange hellebore (that I now wish I had bought). I tried to find a chimonanthes praecox (wintersweet), but they didn't have any. Almost bought Hamamelis 'Pallida', but restrained myself. Maybe tomorrow . . . LOL
So it wasn't a big acquisition trip, but we defnitely got some fun plant time.
Oh, and my H. paniculata 'Limelight' has started leafing out!!!
Willow- Love the pics of the deer.
Willow, Great pics, that is just to cool.
So how much of your plants did they eat. LOL
They are taking all the blooms from the winter blooming heather.
cute fur faces.
Love it, more please. too cute.
I can play this game: What cat? I don't see a cat. Where is Cleo?
She was thinking that she was pretty darn sneeky! I thought it was pretty cute with her peeking out the hole.
I bet she would have been surprised if you had touched her tail since she was being invisible.
I wish I would have thought of that! I was to busy trying to get a pic before she hopped out of it!
