Here is a update on the babies

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Not sure, we found her and her eyes were closed still as you can see. Maybe a week- to 10 days? Not really sure.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

they are just so cute

Coushatta, LA

Pixie, the one you found was maybe just a week old.Because they are not suppose to open their eyes until 10 days old.So if the eyes were closed still it was under 10 days old.

Thanks Mona Wish y'll did live near by so the girls could come and enjoy them.I will get them posted for you all.

Arlene they are so cute.I like the black face one. They are hard to keep still when you take pictures of them.

(Arlene) Lakeland, FL(Zone 9a)

I think the two of them are going to breed very pretty mixes with blackjack. Don't you think? I was looking at them and they look like they are also dwarfs. Those two lil girls are very small and they are all the same age.

Coushatta, LA

Yes they will make beautiful babies. They do look like they will be small. So that is a good thing to.

(Arlene) Lakeland, FL(Zone 9a)

When do you begin to incorporate some type of heating to their cage areas? The reason I asked is because even though I am in FL it can get pretty chilly down here sometimes. Perfect example tonight they have us on a frost warning, lowest temp 27 degrees and I know in the summer months they can die from heat stroke.

The area I plan to build the cages is right under 2 very large oak trees and they will get plenty of shade during the summer but I am not sure of the temp duirng days like today. How cold is too cold?

I am sorry I keep bothering you with all my questions but I appreciate your assistance very much.

Coushatta, LA

Arlene you are not bothering me silly.

Arlene if you think it will get cold like tonight if you put them outside now with them being small you can put a heat lamp on them. That is what we do when the mama's how babies. If you put them under a tree outside please put a trap on top of it so they won't die of heat stroke. They can't take the heat out in the open so make sure they have some type of shade. We have our in sheds. If you can when it gets hot use a fan on them too.

Coushatta, LA

Thank you very much just look at me as a friend. No bother as all.

We use a 100 watt bulb for the heat lamp. When they are full grown they can take the cold. They can take the cold better then the heat because of their fur.

Thank you Cody! I appreciate your help. I am trying to make a list of everything I need and how I am going to do the lay out for easy feedings, care, temperature changes. Once I start I dont want to have to rip things apart because the area is an issue.

That is so cute Scicciarella. No matter how old you are they are like little magnets. My younger son who is almost 17 told me today..Ma I'll be in the garage getting my wabbit fix. I think he spent 45 mins in there playing and looking at the bunnies. LOL!
