TIMBERRRRrrrrrrr! (Arborus extinctus denique)

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

After a week of pleading, DW finally let me take down our Christmas tree (a home growner this year). She likes looking at the lights but I'm a 12-day man myself. Is there anyone else out there similarly procrastinating, or does she have the record for last one onto the mulch pile?

In my book your late. I dont put up a tree and when I did it came down and out Christmas afternoon.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Very early for me Don. 3 years we had a tree up til April, seriously. In the pool room. It became such a conversation piece that we considered keeping it forever. Unfortunately I accidently touched it and it did the Charlie Brown Christmas tree thing and sadly, we decided to take it down. I still miss that tree.

That would be late for me if I still put a real tree up. No kids so I cheat with the fold up table top model complete with fiber optic lights. I do love the smell of a real tree but not the bother. Looks like it was nice while it lasted. Moving on and wishing for Easter now. LOL

Valentines Day out of the picture?

DH likes to keep ours up and keeps saying one more week...
It'll be gone by this weekend.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Our is usually up until about now, but this year I couldn't wait and we put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving, so it had to come down a couple weeks ago! It is so dry the poor things don't last......

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Took mine down before New Years so I could let my kitties back up.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

We put ours up the firse week of december and take it down before New Years.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We have a real tree so it goes up around 10-15 of Dec. and comes down the 1st -2nd of Jan. Then I stick it in a snow bank for the birds until spring melt......then it gets thrown on the burn pile.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Ours is real, up Dec 6, still up. Only a few needles on the floor. I've taken half the ornaments off so far. Our puppy did well, nothing knocked over or broken.

South Hamilton, MA

Real tree, so goes up a couple days before Christmas--comes down either New Year's Day or Epiphany depending on needle drop. Branches come off & used for mulch on the iris seed boxes in their trench.

Central, ME(Zone 5a)

We put up a fresh tree as soon after Thanksgiving as we can. It gives us a longer holiday season.
Then it usually comes down after New Years. We enjoy having it up and have an eclectic assortment of family ornaments. ;)
This year I read it was bad luck to have it up after Twelfth Night.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

no wonder my luck is so bad... we just took ours down last week... and hoping the snow melts soon so we can get the outdoor decorations in.... SIGH... don't think that's going to happen for a while

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

We took our down on the 10th of Jan... it stays thru Russian Christmas. My son wants us to leave his man tree up till Feb 1st.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Mihi ignocsce! Had to do a review on the "denique". The tree is now tenebrae? My Hebrew and Spanish are better (but not much).

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not to mention, il fait froid!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Tee hee, we're chinooking and it's gonna be in the 60s this weekend. I shall be in shorts and vous mon ami?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Only 20's at best here this weekend - which is still much better than today.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

LOL Dnut, okay you have the warm for the weekend but don't forget to share.
Oh chocolate, peanut butter and cake all in one food. Yummm! I must admit this winter weather has not helped me loose any pounds and that's a fact Jack.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Celeste that's my favorite cake!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I would certainly love that too!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We lost the power for a little while this afternoon (grrrr) so I stoked up the fireplace and whipped up a cake to heat the house. DH mentioned the P.B. frosting and that was all it took! lol
Wish I could share.....

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I wonder if the weather transporter could double as a chocolate, peanut butter cake transporter? I shall enter it as an experiment in the Great Book of Lists. I will transport back an equivalent mass of Bernard Callebaut chocolates and smarties (but not red ones cuz their banned in the states or blue ones because I don't believe in blue food), kay Pixie? ^_^ Note: my latest experiment made it rain in the hall so I still have a few glitches to work out. O wait no, oh bother that was my humidification experiment that made it rain in the hall.

Kellogg to recall products over salmonella concerns

www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/01/16/salmonella.fda/index.html

They must be owned by Kelloggs?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

No. it's actually the peanut butter that is being recalled and Kelloggs used that kind of peanut butter.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Comes from a plant in GA.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)
