I woke up to an unexpected -13 this morning. I'd taken the heater from the chickens (ok, I got cold) as it was supposed to warm up a bit. So this morning when I realised how stinkin cold it was, I went running out to check them. They were fine. Not a speck of frostbite. I think the peacocks generate a lot of heat. (And a lot of POOP!)
I need just one warm day to clean out the coops. Everybody is starting to stink and there are peecicles under the rabbit cage. EWWWWW.

Something I read the chickens normal temp is 107. something. If I wasnt to tired I would look it up again. I know it came from a link on one of the stickies here.
I'm amazed when i go out in the morning and all mine seem so happy and i'm freezing my **Beep** off
Harm, Your chickens are so happy because they know they could be living in Michigan! We are above 20 today, it's a heat wave!
Gah! We're at 7 down south here...
