thanks I go to white house perennials
have any of you tried to find out if your state government has any plant sales
we have what is called agricultural canada rare perennial sale in may went last year it was amazing they had so many that I had never seen before had lot of fun it helps to live close to the capital
maybe your state capital has something like it in your area
Garden in the Woods--Framingham MA has wild plant sales in the spring.
that sounds nice
I think Rutgers might do a plant sale. Could be something to look into.
and this one

Im always looking for rare perennials its like a permanent quest but I am not exactly sure what I am looking for hhahahahah
I should have known Allison ,that you would bring it right up. Rutgers is so into the agriculture, I even saw them mentioned on a for sale site recently. "Rutgers introduction" I just can't remember wat the plant was specifically.
But could be another garden playdate?
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but pulmonaria is another great shade plant.
Yes, I have Mrs Moon, but I like Raspberry Splash better!
I have two raspberry splash... they are great plants
went to my big hort meeting last night it was the seed exchange night and one of our members works for a seed company man that was fun got all kinds of goodies for free about 150 dollars worth of seeds some that sell for 6 dollars or more per pack man it made my day even got pom pom poppies and mini daturas in triple lol cant wait to plant them
ooohh mini daturas sound nice
I didnt know they existed made for pots 18 inches and the blooms are smaller two double whites I cant wait to see these babies bloom

very cool!!!!
Those are very prettiful. Thanks onewish. I'm wondering about mini daturas because our season isn't long enough or hot enough for the standard daturas to bloom in time although many try every summer. Sometimes minis bloom earlier.
I usually get to see 2 months of blooms from the daturas... when I start them inside...I can deal with that
I'm confused. I have alsways considered datura the devil's trumpet with upward facing blooms. The links show a plant that resembles a small brug with downward facing blooms. ??
it is confusing
I'm thinking of datura metel. It is a completely different plant than the lochroma australe. They share the same common name 'angel's trumpet' which is why it is confusing I think.
those are angel trumpet mini brugs and they are trees they are hard to germinate sometimes taking five to six weeks low germination I put in five seeds only had one come up
daturas which are also called devils trumpet are an annual plant
and if you want daturas to bloom where it is a shortt season do what I do and start them inside they are easy to germinated anykind of soil will do just put the seed in cover with a bit of soil and keep moist till it comes up in about 10 days
