pork spareribs done in the slow cooker

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

i decided to try spareribs in the cooker but i wanted to do it as a dry rub and not with the bbq sauce all over them. i took 2 whole slabs and cut them each into two pieces. i then took about 1/4 cup of brown sugar, one tbl paprika, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tbl dry yellow mustard, and one tbl garlic flakes. i mixed it all together then rubed it into the four pieces of ribs.

next i took about 3/4 cups of pineapple juice and poured it into the bottom of the cooker. put the ribs in and on low heat i cooked it for 7 hours. the meat came right off the bone but next time i will marinade the ribs in something to give them more flavor.

if anyone has made ribs in the slow cooker i would appreciate any advice you have about making them more tasty.

my next meal i will make is a boston butt which i got from daylily today.

thanks
