What have you rooted from leaf cuttings?

I'm attempting to root from some African Violet and Kalanchoe leaves. What else have you rooted from leaves?

Wax and Rex Begonia works pretty well from leaf cuttings. I

'm currently trying an Iron Cross Begonia. Hold good thoughts!

Kalanchoe I've done - begonias, I tried, but didn't do too well with. Good luck, rwhite!

Had good luck (so far) with both African Violets and Begonias with this method, 2nd chance. But also have some Schlumbergera and Epiphylum that seem to have rooted with "leaf" cuttings. My definition of "leaf cuttings" is "those things you accidentally break off through clumsiness" while working in the overcrowded GH..., not the true scientific definition, but some of them were so tiny as to qualify as "leaf cuttings".

What kind of soil do you use to propagate? Should they be calloused before putting into the soil?

Kinda depends on what "they" are. Cacti/ succulents, yes - you want to let them form a callous before planting. If there's others, I'm not aware of them.

I was thinking that leaf cuttings were when you had a leaf that formed roots? I've sure rooted a whole lot of other stuff, but mostly from stem cuts.

I've started jade tree from leaf, and gloxinia does really well, take a long time though, because it form some bulbous roots before leaves appears. Mother in- law- tongue or( snake plant).

One of the easiest for me has been Graptopetalum paraguayense

l bought an unrooted cutting and got a long leggy stem from the plant store for $3.
Pulled the lower leaves from the cutting and just laid them on the ground. They started growing almost immediately. I don't know how long they took to root because I really didn't watch them but nearly all of the leaves produced new plants.
