News re: farm use of antibiotics in animal production

The FDA announced last summer that it would ban non-therapeutic use of antibiotics in our food animals to take effect in December. On 12/05/08 it reversed its' decision. Therefore we continue to have antibiotics in our meat.

Europe has banned this practice along with others. In other words our meat is not good enough for their consumption. They are concerned with the proliferation of health problems such as MRSA which is a deadly antibiotic resistant infection which kills more people in the US than AIDS.
